While Americans were getting ready for Thanksgiving, Twitter was quietly dissolving its COVID-19 content policy. 

As the 2022 midterm elections approached, social media platforms aggressively championed political ideas benefiting left-wing candidates while silencing dissenting opinions that don’t fit the liberal worldview in the third quarter.

Chinese Communist Party-tied TikTok censored the latest episode of MRC’s free speech video series on Monday, the day before Election Day.

This election season, like the one before, saw much sound and fury over “Spanish-language disinformation”, which is ultimately code for the suppression of conservative Hispanics online and on social media. But how will tech giant Facebook respond now that there’s a blatant instance of actual Spanish-language disinformation on its platform?

The Chinese Communist Party-tied TikTok is muzzling conservatives and free thinkers by shutting down their accounts, typically with no explanation.

Appearing late Wednesday/early Thursday on the Fox News Channel’s Fox News @ Night, MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell shared the findings of Free Speech America’s (FSA) blockbuster study on secondhand censorship by Big Tech, saying the efforts to censor information have had “enormous” impact on our public discourse to the point that it’s “never happened in human history.”

Big Tech in recent years has consistently discriminated against conservatives and independent thinkers by censoring them online. This has affected everyone from the former president of the United States to everyday men and women.

Twitter “temporarily ‘permanently suspended’” Breaking911’s news account for “ban evasion,” according to screenshots tweeted by the news outlet. But Breaking911 said it’s never been banned before.

Chinese Communist Party-affiliated TikTok “permanently banned” Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America after the Supreme Court overturned 1973’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision on Friday. The platform later quietly restored the account. 

Big Tech companies have shown that science is only relevant when it’s not confirming biological facts about sex and gender, and they don’t hesitate to censor anybody who wields science against them.

Johns Hopkins Professor of Surgery Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H. said LinkedIn removed a research letter he co-authored because the scientific research allegedly violated its “Professional Community Policies.” He later tweeted that Linkedin reinstated it “after a friend compl[ained] to the CEO.”
