Yuri Pérez is a news analyst with MRC Latino, the Hispanic media arm of the Media Research Center's News Analysis Division. Before receiving political refugee status in the United States, Yuri was the president of a pro-democracy youth organization in his native Cuba. Prior to joining MRC Latino, Pérez served as a consultant for the Center for Freedom and Democracy and Freedom House, as well as Research Assistant at the Cato Institute. He earned his bachelor's degree in Law and Management from the University of Camagüey (Cuba).
