Sometimes a few number one hit songs will make the fame go straight to one’s head. This seems to be the case with Lauren Jauregui, a member of the group 5th Harmony.
The singer posted a verbal temper tantrum on Twitter on September 4, addressed to President Trump. In the rant, she told Trump, “You disgust me. You and your squad of Republican elite/cowards are truly sick humans.” She then retweeted Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan’s tweet from September 2, and captioned it with, “I wonder how your mouth handles all the shit that comes out of it. Hypocrite liar.”
Variety excused the actress, because, after all, she is of Cuban descent. And while her rant was directed at the potential repeal of DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, it is evident the singer does not clearly understand the facts, but is trying to contribute to the picture liberal Hollywood wants to paint of the terrible awful that all Republicans must represent.
Even Politico reported that not all Republicans are for repealing the program. In response, the White House “plans to delay the enforcement for the next six months.”
Paul Ryan originally tweeted, “In our country, the condition of your birth does not determine the outcome of your life. This is what makes America so great.” Supposedly, tweeting this was just too much for the pop star to handle.
In the past, Jauregui had replied to a Trump tweet with the statement, “How the f--- are you a president.” Evidentially, she didn’t vote Republican.
