When social justice warriors in Hollywood screw up, it’s absolutely hilarious.
The host of the Daily Show, Trevor Noah, has stated again and again that President Trump is a racist. So the wheel turned full circle when France and French comedians accused Noah of making a racist comment about their soccer team. Echoing the sentiments of Nicolas Maduro, president of Venezuela, Noah stated on his July 16 episode of the Daily Show: “Africa won the World Cup!”
He said, “I get it, I get it. They have to say its the French team, but look at those guys. You don’t get that tan by hanging out in the south of France, my friends. Basically, if you don’t understand, France is Africa’s back-up team.”
French comedian Kevin Razy tweeted out a response to Noah: “That is what racists say about our team here in France. You didn’t know, now you know.” Another Twitter user, allegedly born in France, posted, “This is alt-right humor here is in France. This is so racist to think that because they are black they are not French.”
It’s true. What would Noah say if someone on the American right stated that most football players aren’t American because of their skin color? French TV star Martin Medus tweeted to Noah, “You’re a fucking racist. Those people are French and pissed to always be reminded of their background. They fight hard to tell people they are proud French people and yet you disrespect them calling them African. Are the Lakers an African team?”
