Nice guys may not always finish first. However, after being away from the game for two years and fighting it out with 89 other players at the peak of their profession to try and crack a 53 man roster, sometimes all that matters is being the nice guy that finishes.
According to head coach Chip Kelly, finishing the offseason as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles is a goal very much within reach for football’s greatest nice guy, Tim Tebow.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly continues to be impressed by quarterback Tim Tebow, who will earn a spot on the team if he doesn't make any major errors the rest of the preseason, a team source tells ESPN's Dianna Russini.
The source said Kelly's excitement for Tebow is getting stronger. Kelly is impressed by Tebow's running skill, and although he's not perfect, he's improved throwing the football, making him valuable with the new two-point rule and in short-yardage situations.
Tebow's ability saves quarterback Sam Bradford, who has surgically repaired knees, from having to run.
As impressive as Tebow’s weight loss, improved throwing motion, and quicker delivery has been, he also got a roaring round of applause/standing ovation during his first game in Philadelphia from the toughest, hardest to please, and least-forgiving fan base in the NFL. If Tebow can win Philly fans over, he can win anybody over. Except ESPN of course.
