The censorious Chinese Communist Party is an enemy of truth and also The Truth, that is, Jesus Christ, the Son of God Himself.
In a testament to how committed they are to controlling the minds of their citizens, the Chi-coms have reportedly altered the Bible in their country to blaspheme Christ, making His message more in line with communist propaganda.
Christian outlet Faithwire.com reported on a shocking reinterpretation of Sacred Scripture that the government has proposed for Christians in The Middle Kingdom. Apparently the communist bible contains passages in which Jesus admits that He’s a “sinner” just like everyone else. He also takes it upon Himself to stone an adulterous woman. Though we all know He actually saved her from the stoning, forgave her sins and set her free in the famous passage from the Gospel of John.
That’s extreme and horrific blasphemy by any measure.
Faithwire cited evidence provided by an anti-communist, Christian-persecution watchdog organization “The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM).” According to VOM spokesman Todd Nettleton, revising the Bible “is a project that the Chinese Communist Party announced in 2019. At the time, they said it would be about a 10-year process … to release a new translation of the Bible”
A VOM Facebook post explained that “the revisions will include adding ‘core socialist values’ and removing passages that do not reflect communist beliefs.” It also provided a photo of the text of the revised and highly blasphemous version of Christ’s interaction with the adulterous woman, which was put in a Chinese government-approved textbook for school kids in 2020.
Of course, the true version of that story involves Christ’s forgiveness of the woman and challenge to the Pharisees and other Jews of His time to forgo the capital punishment that usually accompanied this type of sin, on account that they’re all guilty of sins in their own right.
We’re all familiar with Christ’s merciful quote found in John, Chapter 8: “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” The admonished crowd disperses, and in His mercy, Christ tells the woman to go and “sin no more.”
It’s a powerful story about God’s forgiveness for any sin, no matter the gravity. Though the reported Chi-com revision alters the story completely and features a version of Christ who is brutal, judging, and not actually God. Hmm, that sounds like the perfect propaganda for a regime that wants its citizens to only see it as perfect.
The disgusting, bastardized passage reads, “When everyone went out, Jesus stoned the woman himself, and said, ‘I am also a sinner.’” Uh, what? So Christ kills the woman and then calls Himself a sinner. So first of all, His unfathomable mercy is completely blotted out and secondly, He admits He sins, which by nature, makes Him not God.
It’s a disgusting revision. Nettleton added, “In one sense, it’s just like so arrogant to think, ‘I’m going to rewrite the story of Jesus’… but then you think about denying the deity of Christ. If Jesus is a sinner, then he’s not God.”
But again, it’s obvious to see that this is about control. If Jesus is God, then He’s a threat to the ambitions of a Chinese government that seeks to be seen as omnipotent. We must pray for Christians in China who are subject to this diabolical and satanic propaganda.
