Yet another woman has filed a lawsuit against Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShaun Watson, who's currently serving an 11-game suspension for alleged sexploits against more than two dozen women.
The latest lawsuit was filed Thursday in Houston by a “Jane Doe" who said that on Dec. 18, 2020, Watson attempted to solicit sexual acts from her, including intercourse, during a massage therapy appointment. The new allegations come less than two months after the NFL and NFL Players Association agreed to an 11-game suspension and $5 million fine against Watson following more than 20 charges of sexual misconduct by massage therapists when he played for the Houston Texans, who eventually traded him to Cleveland.
The latest complaint cited an incident involving Watson and the plaintiff that allegedly occurred at the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. Watson is alleged to have removed his towel before asking the woman to get on top of him. She said she refused to have sex with him, but that he persisted and pressured her into performing oral sex on him. He allegedly paid the woman $300 for a $115 fee.
The civil complaint includes civil assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress charges against Watson, who so far maintains innocence and has denied previous allegations.
Watson is not eligible to practice until Nov. 14 and can’t play until Dec. 4, but did recently gain permission to use the team’s training facilities. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said Watson's return “could be delayed based on whether and to what extent he complies, or fails to comply, with the terms of his current discipline.”
NFL Chief Spokesman Brian McCarthy said nothing about Watson's suspension has changed yet, but the league is reviewing this new allegation while considering whether additional sanctions will be imposed.
