Failed NFL quarterback and professional activist Colin Kaepernick has released a book, and its contents are about what you’d expect from a man of his reputation.
Titled “Our History Has Always Been Contraband: In Defense of Black Studies,” the novel is a collection of writings by several authors who defend the poisonous ideologies of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Critical Race Theory (CRT), feminist theory, and several others. The goal of the book is to explain how these worldviews - which Kaepernick describes as “Black Studies” - are vital to pushing back against white supremacy.
It’s what we’ve come to expect from a guy who makes a living off race-baiting people ever since he started kneeling for the national anthem as a backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.
But not only is Kaepernick releasing a pro-communist book, he also wrote the book with the help of two of the most prominent communist leaders in America - Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor and Robin D.G. Kelley, who among other things are vehemently anti-capitalism. Several other authors contributed essays to the book as well.
“I’ve long admired Keeanga and Robin’s work as well as their uncompromising political analysis and understanding that Black liberation simply isn’t possible under capitalism,” Kaepernick said, according to activist writer Indigo Olivier reported. “I think the anthology makes this argument quite well, and I hope it challenges readers to see that racism is not white supremacy’s only ingredient. White supremacy persists in part because of its relationship with capitalism, heteropatriarchy, ableism, and so on.”
If you rolled your eyes after reading that, don’t feel bad.
Kaepernick feels as though it’s important for white people especially to read and buy into the worldview he’s trying to push, because they could hinder black people’s fight to be free from white supremacy.
“Black Studies is for everyone: Black students, non-Black students of color, Indigenous students, and white students,” Kaeprnick said. “It is worth mentioning, however, that working to develop a sophisticated understanding of Black history and being in authentic relationships(s) with Black people is an absolute necessity in order for white people to support the Black freedom movement without unknowingly doing great harm in the process.”
A book that describes progressive worldviews in a positive light while guilt-tripping white people for being “enablers” of white supremacy?
Don't be surprised if this book completely flops...unless the publishing company buys enough copies to get it certified as a "New York Times Best-seller."
