Donald Trump may want to make America great again, but Miley Cyrus has another idea.
The singer and former Disney star, who once called Donald Trump a “f**king nightmare,” is proud to be sporting a different take on the candidate’s campaign slogan. Over the weekend, the Miley posted a selfie on Instagram wearing a hat with the words ‘Make America Gay Again.’ And shortly before that, she posted another pic of her wearing a t-shirt with the same rainbow-colored quote.
And for just $28, you can have one of those hats too. This is another instance of Miley advertising for a clothing line with a political agenda. In December 2015, American Apparel, in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign, launched the line of LGBTQ themed clothing, including shirts, tank tops, totes, and, of course, hats. All proceeds are donated to a campaign for a federal Equality Act.
She might be best known for twerking, swinging naked on wrecking balls, and other wild antics, but Miley does understand the power of having 45.6 million Instagram followers. She frequently uses that platform to advocate for causes she deems worthy, like abortion and gender confusion. In May, Miley used her Instagram account to help Marc Jacobs sell ‘Miley Hearts Planned Parenthood’ shirts. She’s also posted selfies advertising ‘gender fluidity’ lipstick and apparel supporting her own LGBT charity, the Happy Hippie Foundation.
Miley herself has openly stated that she identifies as pansexual and gender fluid. In one interview, she said that “I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.” She also claims that “I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age.”
Well, at least she ruled out animals.
