Turns out liberals support voter ID after all, as long as they think it hurts “insular” people – what the lefty elite think of conservatives.
In a DNC convention interview with Politico, vulgar comedian Chelsea Handler declared that only people who care about what is going on around the world should be allowed to vote – “you shouldn’t be able to vote without a fucking passport!”
Humorously, on the May 25 episode of her show Chelsea, Handler and Barbara Boxer lamented the effects of voter ID laws.
When Politico Playbook authors Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman asked her about the GOP convention, Handler called Trump a “fiasco” who has “disgraced” the American people. “For me, I think it’s sad to see so many people who don’t think that it matters what’s happening in other countries and around the world because they don’t leave their own country, for the people who stay here…they’re so kind of, you know, nebulous and insular within this country.” She continued, “I think those are obviously the people that, you know, respond to him – who have never left the country and have no intention of ever getting a passport.”
Over the course of the 30 minute interview, Handler dropped the f-bomb at least five times. Handler also attacked Donald Trump, worried she might be locked up if he were elected and even questioned whether she believed in God.
Here are a selection of her craziest comments:
- “I don’t want to abuse the platform I have. Some people may say I’m on a soapbox, but fuck those people, I have an advantage and I’m going to use it, and I don’t care if I alienate people that support Donald Trump. This is the right thing to do, and I’m going to use that platform and I’ll abuse it.”
- “I’ll probably be put in jail if he [Trump] gets elected! So many of us will! Who knows what could happen!”
- “It’s a terrible time that’s happening in the world … and you can’t be based in fear … that is where all evil comes from. And I use the term ‘evil’ loosely because, you know, I don’t really know if I believe in God or evil or the Devil or anything like that, but whatever the closest thing to evil is if you don’t believe in God is what I believe in.”
