Let's face it, watching MSNBC coverage of the State of the Union is not all that exciting. It's going to be a predictable slobbery love-fest for President Obama and lack any serious consideration of conservative critiques of the president's left-wing laundry list.
So maybe that's why network producers whipped up a promo video featuring a montage of MSNBC anchor over top a hard-rocking music bed. As Tara Ariano of Previously.tv quipped, it's as if network suits were trying to evoke NHL hockey playoffs.
