Greg Gutfeld Mocks the Press Over Russia Hysteria

July 29th, 2019 6:20 PM

As the Mueller testimony unfolded last Wednesday, the Russian collusion narrative was exposed and shattered to the dismay of the very media who perpetuated it. The deflation on the faces of cable news hosts’ was evident as the day went on. Greg Gutfeld pinpointed this disappointment during his monologue on Friday’s The Five.

Ever the King of analogies, Gutfeld hit the press with a dose of reality through this comparison:

Yes, clowns. What else can you call them? You look at the media right now, they expected -- they were like let's make a deal. And they expected a shiny corvette behind door number one and when the curtain pulled back it was an inflatable doll. Nothing there for them. And also they are saying, some of the media, are saying oh it's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag, right? Yeah it's a mixed bag of dog poop, cat poop and horse poop.

Proven time and time again, the leftist media coterie is oftentimes blissfully ignorant of the interests of the American people. Gutfeld reinforced this idea by mocking the press for putting so much weight on the Russian collusion narrative and seeping into denial once it did not go in the direction they had hoped it would (click "expand"):

They can't take the, as you say Dan, they can't take the L. What this was a great week for were normal people. Meaning people not prone to hysterics or emotional vendettas. That you could watch this as a detached observer, okay, this could go one way or the other. But your whole life isn't hanging on it the way it does with Morning Joe. Who are having public nervous breakdowns over this. If it went the other way, we would just get on with our life. We'd go have dinner. We'd feel bad one way or the other because we support the President and we don't want their hysteria to be proven true. But now you see the Dems and the media are redoubling their efforts after this failure. They are redoubling their efforts for impeachment.

Gutfeld closed out the monologue with a thought-provoking query; "So imagine if the hearing was good for them, what would they have done? If it's bad for them and this is what they're doing, imagine if it was good for them. Where would they have gone? They would have had torches, tar and feather."

Suffice to say for many members of the left-wing media, clinging to stories that negatively portray President Trump makes up the fabric of their lives.
