Elite east coast journalists dubbed Tuesday’s primaries in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island “the Acela primary,” but as Bloomberg TV’s With All Due Respect humorously demonstrated, TV anchors across the country have no idea how to pronounce the name of Amtrak’s high-speed rail service between Washington, DC and Boston.
“With all due respect to Amtrak,” co-host John Heilemann noted in setting up the compilation Tuesday afternoon, “it seems like you all have an itty bitty problem with your branding.”
It’s properly pronounced ah-sell-ah.
