We’ve got a brand new, fun interactive series for the new year called Worst Media Take of the Week, where you — our loyal NewsBusters visitors and MRC supporters — get to vote on which leftist journalist or celebrity had the worst media take of the week.
Much appreciation to all who voted last week via NewsBusters and the MRC’s various social media sites (Facebook, Instagram and X.com).
The results of the Worst Media Take of the Week are in and the winner is…
Nicolle Wallace!
The MSNBC host of Deadline:White House won in a romp with 60 percent of the vote. Her MSNBC colleague Rachel Maddow finished in a distant second with 38 percent of the vote. Coming in dead last was incoming NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas 2 percent.
Wallace won first place for her linking cancer survivor D.J. Daniel (who was honored at President Donald Trump’s address to Congress) to January 6.
WINNER (60 percent of the vote)
Wallace Ghoulishly Ties Cancer Survivor’s Story to January 6
“I’ve let myself feel joy about D.J. [Daniel] and I hope he’s alive for another, you know, 95 years. Right? And I hope he lives the life he wants to live. He wants to be a cop. He knows what he wants to do. And maybe when you have childhood cancer, that crystallizes for you, and I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer, but I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters. And if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide. And I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then live to see Donald Trump pardon those people.”
— Host Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC’s live coverage of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress, March 4.
SECOND PLACE (38 percent of the vote)
Maddow Disgusted By Trump’s Tribute to Pediatric Cancer Survivor D.J. Daniel
“For the record, and this is disgusting, the President made a spectacle out of praising a young man who thus far survived pediatric cancer, as if the President had something to do with that. This was in the midst of him praising DOGE. The DOGE cuts, among other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.”
— Host Rachel Maddow on MSNBC’s live coverage of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress, March 4.
THIRD PLACE (2 percent of the vote)
Will a One-Term Trump Be Tempted to Be “Incredibly Reckless?”
“Since he’s [Donald Trump] not running for re-election, do you think that’s a super power, or do you think that’s sort of a gateway to temptation to be incredibly reckless?”
— NBC senior national correspondent Tom Llamas to former Trump White House press secretary J. Hogan Gidley on NBC News Now live coverage of Trump address to Congress, March 4.
