Lena Dunham has dun it again: pushing past the limits of controversial in the world of Hollywood.
Lena Dunham, star of the cable series "Girls," recently directed a music video for her boyfriend, "Fun." guitarist and Bleachers singer Jack Antonoff. In the video for the Bleachers' "I Wanna Get Better" single, Antonoff acts as a therapist who encounters a scantily clad patient. She reveals, "My parents gave me this dog so I would get an abortion. He's an abortion dog." Video Below.
Antonoff's therapist character drives to work after getting dumped by a girlfriend. His patients share their woes with him while lip-synching the lyrics "I wanna get better." Besides the "abortion dog" patient, the therapist meets with numerous characters, from a businessman complaining about Take Your Daughter to Work Day ("I don't want to be at work with a bunch of other people's daughters. It's distracting.") to a housewife screaming that her husband is having an affair. A bickering couple also appears while a teen complains, "Maybe my problem is that you're such a stupid d**k face."
Later in the video, the woman with the "abortion dog" grabs her crotch and provocatively poses until the therapist advises, "I don't know if it's appropriate for you to be using that kind of physicality." She groans in response.
Dunham has, in the past, claimed people who don't like seeing her naked need psych help, compared Republicans to Nazis, and appeared in an SNL skit suggesting it's the bad guys who shut down Planned Parenthood clinics.
