Heading out to commercial break shortly before 10:30 p.m. Eastern, CNN Democratic debate moderator Anderson Cooper cracked a joke that implied the debate audience was full of potheads, or at least former ones.
The audience rolled with the punch, however, laughing at the line. Here's the relevant transcript and video:
ANDERSON COOPER: Coming up, some of the candidates have tried marijuana, as have, pretty much probably everbody in this room [audience laughs]. Others have not. Does it influence their views on legalization? Find out that and others ahead.
