The View erupted into chaos Monday as co-host Meghan McCain called out the left-wing media condoning anti-Semitism from Democrats, while being outraged at awful Holocaust comments made by GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Proving her point, McCain's liberal co-hosts then actually defended anti-Semitism from Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Today’s hot topic on the fringe Republican congresswoman comparing mask mandates to Jews being forced to wear yellow stars was the latest attempt from the show to deflect from the Biden administration, after weeks of endless obsessing over GOP Rep. Liz Cheney. McCain noted that the GOP had already stripped Greene of her committee power, while Nancy Pelosi didn’t take any privileges away from Rep. Ilhan Omar after her anti-Semitic comments. The fired up co-host described several horrible violent attacks against Jewish people last week that are being ignored by the media before blasting the double standard:
I would love if the energy was putting on one crazy woman in congress -- and by the way if she is the face of Republicans, then the squad is the face of the Democrats, I would love Democrats to put that same type of energy into what's happening on the left. Because quite frankly this is how people get red pilled. They’re red-pilled when they see the blatant bias in the media, it's because the media doesn't want the squad to look bad. They just want Marjorie Taylor to look bad.
But of course her co-hosts’ defended the left’s hypocrisy. Whoopi Goldberg claimed a talking to from Nancy Pelosi was enough of a punishment for Omar’s many anti-Semitic comments: “Let me point out that when Ilhan Omar made her equally ridiculous comments, the entire -- Nancy Pelosi snatched up her up and said ‘let me sit down and talk about this because you're incorrect.’” After McCain pointed out she wasn’t actually punished in any real substantive way, and still was allowed to make foreign policy despite her anti-Semitism, Goldberg seemed fed up with the conversation: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” she said, trying to shut up McCain.
Sunny Hostin then seemed to defend Ilhan Omar's anti-Semitism as her simply being a "critic" of Israel's foreign policy:
I think it's very dangerous to use examples of allegedly pro-Palestinian supporters attacking Jews. I think it's um, criticizing the Israeli government and some of its tactics is not the same as being anti-Semitic. Just as criticizing Donald Trump is not the same as being anti-American. I think that you can't conflate Israeli politics with Judaism and Jewish hate crimes. In fact, doing so I believe is anti-Semitic.
As McCain defended her points again, saying "I wish we brought those same energy to hate crimes directed towards Jewish people as we do with every other minority as we should. I’m saying ‘we’ as in media," her co-hosts bristled again.
"I resent that!" Joy Behar piped up, adding again, "I resent that comment." She seethed, "I’ve been talking about anti-Semitism for 25 freaking years. Don’t tell me what I’m supposed to be saying, Meghan. You do your thing and we do ours.”
Whoopi Goldberg claimed they gave equal attention to all hate crimes, before she shut down the chaotic segment.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Right. Meghan, I mean, have you -- what are your thoughts on this? Are you trying to figure out, like I think I am, why there is no one saying, hey, why her own party isn't dragging her in saying, listen, you can't do this?
MEGHAN MCCAIN: Well, I mean, I can't stand Marjorie Taylor Greene, I think she's a crazy person. I’ve said that over and over again but She has been stripped of her committee. She has absolutely no legislative power in Congress whatsoever. Which is juxtaposed when Ilhan Omar said Jewish people had hypnotized the world and said it was all about the Benjamins. She’s still on the foreign relations committee and she’s able to dictate our foreign policy in the United States of America, So what do you expect Republicans to do? I think that's taking a lot more action on a crazy person than - the Democrats I would say, are doing on the left. I'm confused what has risen this to a hot topic this week because last week as I brought up on Friday, there's a huge rise on anti-Semitic attacks on Jewish people globally and in our own country.
In Los Angeles a group of Palestine anti-Semites showed up to a sushi restaurant and said who is Jewish here and then began attacking people at the restaurant. In New York City as i mentioned on Friday, a jewish man wearing a yarmulke was beaten up in Times Square.
In Italy hundreds of neo Nazis were marching. In Toronto a pro Palestinian demonstrator lynched an elderly Jewish man and sexually assaulted a Jewish woman. In London people went down the street screaming death to Jews, blank their mothers, rape their daughters. This was all happening last week.
I would love if the energy was putting on one crazy woman in congress -- and by the way if she is the face of Republicans, then the squad is the face of the Democrats, I would love Democrats to put that same type of energy into what's happening on the left. Because quite frankly this is how people get red pilled. They’re red pilled when they see the blatant bias in the media, its because the media doesn't want the squad to look bad. They just want Marjorie Taylor to look bad. Anti-Semitism is a huge problem everywhere in this country….
….
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Okay. Let me point out that when Ilhan Omar made her equally ridiculous comments, the entire -- Nancy Pelosi snatched up her UP and said let me sit down and talk about this because you're incorrect.
MCCAIN: She still has power.
GOLDBERG: I am hoping -- let me finish.
MCCAIN: She's on the -- Marjorie Taylor Greene has been stripped of committee. She has no power in congress anymore. It matters who can make legislation. If you're for BDS and you’re anti-Israel in the way she is, it has real power to make legislative change. We've seen last week with the squad. So the idea that Marjorie Taylor Greene is more influential than AOC is just inaccurate and its just not true.
GOLDBERG: I don't know what you’re talking about--
MCCAIN: -- It's just inaccurate and not true.
GOLDBERG: Now I don;t know what you’re talking about. I understand you're upset. I get that. Because we only have four minutes to talk about this, I'll say Ilhan Omar was taken under hand and they shook her and woke her up and said you can't do this….
…
SUNNY HOSTIN: Well, you know, I think when you talk about Israel and Palestine, you need to be an expert. That's one of the reasons we haven't had a more robust discussion on this show about the conflict in the Middle East because none of us are Middle East policy experts. Perhaps that's something we should do. Perhaps we should have experts come on and educate us and our viewers on this. In fact, doing so I believe is anti-Semitic --
MCCAIN: I wasn't. What I was --
HOSTIN: Let me finish. Let me finish. I think the other thing, if we're going to compare -- I don't think it's fair to compare the left and the right when it comes to this. I also you know don't like whataboutism. But if we're going to compare AOC and Marjorie Taylor Greene, which people seem to be wanting to do lately, not only on this show but all across the country, in terms of Marjorie Taylor Greene's reach, I mean, she raised $3 million after she was stripped of her committees, yet um AOC raised a little over $700,000. That makes Marjorie Taylor Greene in my view more of a threat because she has massive support in the Republican party, notwithstanding the fact that she's targeted marginalized communities.
MCCAIN: If you go up to a table of Jewish people and say who is Jewish and attack them, it's a hate crime. I dont think that’s conflating--I’m not saying its being--if you’re pro Palestine it means you're anti-Semitic. I’m saying--what I listed off -- which I was very careful to use these examples because I knew that would be a rebuttal. If you go up to a person in restaurant or if you’re throwing pipe bombs or you go up to someone wearing a yarmulke --by the way, the man who did that to the jewish man was let out of jail and then celebrated said I would do it again. I wish we brought those same energy to hate crimes directed towards Jewish people as we do with every other minority as we should. I’m saying ‘we’ as in media.
GOLDBERG: We bring dislike for all hate crime.
JOY BEHAR: I resent that.
BEHAR: I resent that remark.
GOLDBERG: We do. When you -- which one?
MCCAIN:I resent a lot of things. So we're even.
BEHAR: I've been talking about anti-Semitism for 25 freaking years. Don't tell me what I'm supposed to be saying, Meghan. You do yours and I-- we do ours.
