Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg were enthusiastic cheerleaders for President Biden on Tuesday’s edition of The View. The hosts insisted the media weren’t giving the Democratic president enough credit and Biden’s poor polling among Americans was a result of too harsh media coverage.
Like she did before Thanksgiving, Whoopi started off the show dutifully sharing her Biden administration-approved talking points touting all the great things he was doing for the country.
Which begs the question, is The View now state-run TV?
"So President Biden recently passed his historic infrastructure bill that will benefit all Americans in many different ways, and his Build Back Better plan includes things like paid family leave, universal Pre-K, and health care measures that will drop insulin prices from $1,000 a month to just 35 bucks. Yeah. Sounds great!" Whoopi cheered.
The gullible audience reacted in shocked approval at that last point. Do they know that President Biden is now taking credit for an executive order President Trump signed in 2020?
President Trump took actions to lower drug costs in 2019 and the media bashed him for it, but now that Biden’s in office, it’s suddenly great news. In 2020, it was President Trump who lowered the costs of insulin to 35 bucks a month, and President Biden who put a freeze on that low cost when he came into office.
But facts are in short supply on The View, which is obvious considering Whoopi then griped that the media wasn’t praising Biden enough:
I guess the question is, why don't people want to hear the good news for a change or are we so addicted to people bashing that we don't recognize good things that are meant to help us unless they're in a package that isn't hysterical? "Like, oh my God, is he going to blow up the world?" You know? Is that what we need to hear when something good is happening here?
Co-host Sunny Hostin was less enthusiastic than she was in previous weeks and voiced her complaints from the far left, that Biden wasn’t doing enough to help blacks. But Joy Behar agreed with Whoopi that the media was nicer to Trump than Biden. Really?
She cherrypicked one example of a jobs report headline from the Trump years compared to Biden to illustrate her point that the media was biased against Biden:
You know, you said something interesting there. You said, you know, that people are not picking up on the good stuff. I believe that that's because the media is not portraying him as a winner. So for example -- [ applause ] For example, I have an example of that. So when the jobs reports came out last week, an, NPR -- they were both over 200,000 people when Trump was in, and when Biden is in. Both over 200,000 new jobs. There was a discrepancy, but approximately.
So, NPR, when Trump did it, this was the headline they ran. November jobs report -- this is for Biden. I'm sorry -- somewhat inarticulate right now. The jobs came out last week. NPR wrote this headline, ‘November jobs report is a bust.’ Okay? In 2019 during -- prior to the pandemic, during Trump they ran, ‘job market surges as employers add so many jobs in November.’
“They are minimizing what he is doing,” Behar exclaimed.
But one less than enthusiastic headline doesn’t even come close to comparing to years of endlessly harsh, combative, and antagonistic media coverage from virtually every outlet.
Goldberg was very sympathetic to Biden. “He's got a lot on his plate, and he's been in nine months,” she stated before bizarrely claiming that she gave Trump credit his first nine months in office too.
“For me, you know, I'm on like I did with you-know-who. I want to wait and see what he does,” she stated. Again, really? Before he was even in office in October of 2016, Whoopi claimed Trump supporters were racist. Even more relevant to this discussion, she claimed the media was too soft on Trump, shortly after he won the 2016 election.
But guest co-host, former Republican Congresswoman Mia Love stated all the things Americans were unhappy about with the current administration’s leadership, from inflation to Afghanistan to the border. She pointed out how this wasn’t just her but the majority of Americans. “This is not just my opinion, right? Out of 70 Americans that rate the economy, 39 percent believe that the President is handling it incorrectly,” she hurriedly pointed out, but the other hosts were eager to shut her down. Behar rudely quipped, “Who are these people?” as the audience jeered.
“They’re Americans,” Love stated. And that flippant response from Behar perfectly illustrated the stark divide between the far-left View hosts and their audience compared to how the average American feels about this administration.
Still, Behar thought most people were on her side. "When the chips are down, Americans are going to understand that if Republicans take control of this country again, we are done as a country. Believe it!" she shouted.

MIA LOVE: It is easy to be a leader when things are going well, and it is difficult to be a leader when the crap hits the fan, but the reality is with all the promises that were made and not kept, with what's happening at the border with immigrants, Afghanistan, all of the things happening --

LOVE: Inflation going up, food prices, gas prices, all of those things, the American people -- the messaging is not getting to the American people. This is how I'm going to relieve you.
