Trying to keep up with the left-wing activism of his late-night competitors Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, during a live edition of NBC’s Tonight Show after the Super Bowl, host Jimmy Fallon put new words to Bob Dylan’s 1964 song Times They Are A Changin’ in order to attack Donald Trump and hail the liberal media.
With lyrics like “our country don’t feel like our home” and “weak is the man who calls truth fake news,” Fallon offered his live audience a musical political rant early Monday morning. He implored the press to keep up their attacks on the President: “Come journalists, writers, who report the facts, and brandish your pen to fend off his attacks. Look past what he says and look at how he acts, the Fire and Fury is raging. For his words can hurt but your words can fight back, New York Times, they aren’t failing.”
Keeping the Super Bowl theme of th night in mind, he also cheered football players who protested the national anthem: “Come athletes with platforms throughout the land, who by taking a knee are taking a stand. And before you shout out that they should be banned, listen to what they are saying, perhaps they’d stand up if you reached out your hand. Well, the times they are a changin.’”

Fallon was not the first member of the NBC to create a protest anthem for the anti-Trump movement. On January 22, MSNBC’s Morning Joe featured a montage of left-wing activists taking to the streets in the Women’s March with a song performed by host Joe Scarborough playing in the background.
