Did Al Sharpton just suggest that if Rudy Giuliani were ever to become Vice-President, the former Mayor of New York might try to murder the president? It sure sounded like it.
On his MSNBC show this evening, Sharpton asked Bob Shrum: "would you ever want to be president with Rudy Giuliani as the Vice-President, given his ambition?" Video after the jump.
AL SHARPTON: Somebody's saying Rudy should be the vice-presidential candidate for Rick Perry.
MICHAEL STEELE: That's an interesting thought. I'm sure that there's some folks talking about that.
SHARPTON: Bob, would you ever want to be president with Rudy Giuliani as the Vice-President, given his ambition? And I'm being very nice about it.
Sharpton's idea of being "very nice" to a political foe: accusing him of being a potential presidential assassin.
Al obviously took to heart President Obama's Tuscon massacre speech, in which PBO called on Americans to talk with each other "in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds."
