Tiffany Cross has a recurring fantasy. She dreams of seeing Donald Trump being arrested in the style of the Cops TV show.
Back in 2020, we caught Cross fantasizing about Trump being:
"Dragged out on the White House lawn like a 1980s episode of 'Cops."
Cross cranked up her Cops dream machine again Saturday morning. Here's how she fleshed out her fantasy:
"You play the music to the TV show, Cops, and march this guy out, and put him in the back of a police car, and hold his head, and everything? It will be a ratings bonanza, believe me."
As you'll see in the screencap, Cross even played out her fantasy, demonstrating the approved Cops technique by which Trump's head would be pushed down as he was loaded into the police car.
Regular show guest Elie Mystal of The Nation told Cross that the only person who could fulfill her fantasy is Biden attorney general, Merrick Garland. But Mystal was pessimistic about Trump & Co. being sent to the slammer:
"Merrick Garland, is the only person that can actually do the things necessary to put Trump and his cronies and his family behind bars, and we haven't seen a lot from him to this point."
Speaking of fantasies, Cross also claimed that:
"Our viewers, particularly those Cross Connection viewers, have a bit more intellectual curiosity than some people that watch Fox News."
We suppose that asking Cross Connection viewers to disclose their SAT scores would be out of the question.
On her MSNBC show, Tiffany Cross once again fantasizing about Donald Trump being arrested Cops-style was sponsored in part by Progressive and Intel.
Here's the transcript.
MSNBC's The Cross Connection
4/2/22
10:04 am ETTIFFANY CROSS: Listen, so the January 6th committee, we remember a few months ago, they came out and said we're going to host these prime-time hearings. This was really the effort to put before the American people, hey, this is what happened.
I'm curious your thoughts on this, Elie. Because I, my argument is the American people know full well what happened. The American people knew full well four years ago who this man was, and over 75 million still voted for him. Do you think the committee holding these prime-time public hearings so everyone can hear this every day will have any impact, not only in court of public opinion, but most importantly, in the court of law?
ELIE MYSTAL: Depends who covers it. And I hate to take that direct shot at mainstream media, but that's where it's at. The hearings the other night, where they voted for contempt for two of the people, this network was the only network that covered it live . . . If the networks would cover hearings like I think they deserve to be covered, yeah, I do think it would have impact. But unfortunately, I don't think that people are going to cover it. I think that people are gonna, I think that the American media, the American media, has moved on from the story. And so, I don't know that you can recapture the attention of the American people.
. . .
CROSS: But I think you're right. MSNBC, we did cover it. But I think our viewers, particularly those Cross Connection viewers, have a bit more intellectual curiosity than some people that watch Fox News, let's say. I'm curious, your thoughts though, as a lawyer and a New York Times best-selling author, my friend: will we every see Trump have any accountability?
Because I think that's what -- people will tune in for that. You play the music to Cops, the TV show, Cops, and march this guy out, and put him in the back of a police car, and hold his head, and everything? It will be a ratings bonanza, believe me. Will we ever see that?
. . .
MYSTAL: At the end of the day, it is Merrick Garland, is the only person that can actually do the things necessary to put Trump and his cronies and his family behind bars and we haven't seen a lot from him to this point.
