After several years of being the lone conservative voice on "The View," co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be leaving the daytime talk show.
According to the New York Post, Hasselbeck will be joining Fox News as a co-anchor of the morning program "Fox and Friends" in mid-September.
In a statement quoted by the Post, FNC boss Roger Ailes praised Hasselbeck's professionalism and gift of gab:
“Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View.' She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”
According to the Post report, Gretchen Carlson, the lone female co-host of "Fox and Friends" will be moving to a one-hour daytime show while the other two co-hosts, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, will remain.
Hasselbeck is the third "View" co-host who has announced her intention to leave the program. Barbara Walters and Joy Behar have both announced they will be quitting the show.
