MSNBC needs to be held responsible for the unhinged hate on its network. Leftist MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell insisted “sociopath” Donald Trump does not care if children die from coronavirus. In the obnoxious Monday night rant, O’Donnell bashed Trump and his Secretary of Education, then gave praise to President Obama’s Secretary of Education.
O’Donnell’s pure hatred for the president was on full display:
Donald Trump cannot give you the name of a single public school student in America, not one. He doesn't know one. He wants them all to go back to school and sit in their classrooms shoulder to shoulder because he doesn't care how many children in America get neurological damage or die from the coronavirus.
It’s incredibly disgusting for someone to go on national television and claim that the President of the United States does not care about millions of children’s health and safety. O’Donnell’s leftist agenda is to use ridiculous, obviously false, language like that so his viewers believe that Trump is an evil person.
O’Donnell doubled down on his statements about Trump by making a similar, and false, attack against Betsy DeVos:
Donald Trump's Secretary of Education does not know the name of a single public school student, and she also knows nothing about education. And she also doesn't care what happens to public school children during this pandemic.
It is ignorant to say that the Secretary of Education knows nothing about education, and does not care about public schools. O’Donnell’s standard for those who care about education and students, only is about if they’re a Republican or Democrat:
But Arnie Duncan does care. Arnie Duncan was president Barack Obama's Secretary of Education. He knows that the President of the United States has absolutely no authority to force any school in America to reopen, not one.
O’Donnell praised the former Secretary of Education because Duncan is a liberal Democrat, who doesn’t want to reopen schools this fall. It is dangerous to spread the narrative that if you want to reopen schools you want students to die, and that the only way to care about students’ lives is to force them in remote learning indefinitely.
According to O’Donnell, the root to all of Trump’s beliefs is that he’s mentally ill:
The other thing to keep in mind is that Donald Trump has been publically diagnosed as a sociopath by a group of esteemed psychiatrists and mental health professionals and by his niece, Mary Trump, who’s a clinical psychologist, who’s written a book telling us that Donald Trump is completely incapable of caring about the life or death of anyone who attends or works in a public school.
O’Donnell ran with claims that Trump’s a sociopath from people who’ve never met Trump, and by one person who has notably had a personal hatred for Trump for decades. O’Donnell used this tactic so that his viewers fear Trump, in a ploy to get them to vote against him this fall.

LAWRENCE O’DONNELL: Dr. Fauci said today that we learned new things every week about coronavirus, and that's why he sounds much more worried about it now than he did in January when we knew much less about it because the scientific research in coronavirus had not yet really begun in January. When Donald Trump was asked today what he would tell parents who were worried about sending their kids back to school after a school teacher in Arizona died from coronavirus, Donald Trump refused to answer that question and then he said, quote, “schools should be opened, schools should be reopened.” Today Dr. Fauci added brain damage to the list of parental worries about kids who go back to school.
