RESTON, VA -- Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell released the following statement on Thursday about Samantha Bee being honored with a special award from the Television Academy, the group behind the Emmy Awards. Bozell called for the organization to “disinvite” Bee. This award comes less than a day after the TBS talk show host called Ivanka Trump a “feckless cunt.” Bee apologized on Thursday.

The decent and honorable thing for the Television Academy to do is immediately disinvite Samantha Bee. The Academy should and they could but they probably won’t. They have shown if it's a leftist attacking a conservative or Republican it’s okay. This is Hollywood, after all, and they won’t do it because they are supportive of this type of abomination. This is just proof positive of the hypocrisy of liberals in Hollywood and in general. Imagine if Roseanne had said this about the Obama daughters and was being honored tonight. The Television Academy would have immediately disinvited her. For conservatives and Republicans, it’s open season against them, including making repugnant statements about the children of US Presidents.
The Catholic League also issued a statement calling on the Television Academy to drop Bee as an honoree.
