Appearing on the Monday edition of the Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co., Media Research Center founder and president Brent Bozell tore into Twitter for being “like two-year-olds” with their attempt to lock Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign account for sharing video of angry, far-left protesters last week outside his home threatening to inflict fatal harm on the Kentucky Republican.
“Twitter finally reversing their decision to lock Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign account. It’s allowing his team to post videos of the protests outside of his home. I would say another victory for those who oppose their hypocrisy on this. What do you think,” fill-in host David Asman wondered.
Bozell didn’t waste time before he went postal on the social media platform as “acting like two-year-olds and they have got two-year-old rules” along with the fact that “it took over and over and over again for Senator McConnell to get them to understand he was the victim of it.”
To further illustrate the double standard, Bozell pointed to 2020 Democratic presidential candidates and Senators Kamala Harris (CA) and Elizabeth Warren (MA) falsely claiming on Twitter that Michael Brown was “murdered” in Ferguson, Missouri five years ago even though Officer Darren Wilson was cleared by the Obama Department of Justice.
“And so they are accusing a man, incorrectly and unfairly and horrifically of being a murderer and that’s okay, but Mitch McConnell defending himself from people who want to kill him, he’s wrong,” Bozell continued.
Asman then suggested that “last week” was “a pretty seminal moment where it seemed that the crazy hypocrisy, whether it’s Hollywood hypocrisy, Twitter, PC hypocrisy writ large really lost big time last week,” which Bozell agreed as the public have seen how this censorship only happens to conservatives and Republicans but not liberals.
Earlier in the appearance, Asman asked Bozell about the decision by Universal to cancel the release of “their controversial movie, The Hunt over the backlash of depictions of wealthy elite killing deplorables.”
When asked whether he was happy to see it be pulled, Bozell replied “not necessarily because I don't think it means anything” when “there are bigger issues to look at here.”
In addition to wondering why the movie was “made to begin with,” Bozell asserted that this process illustrated “the degree to which Hollywood despises conservatives and more importantly, despises Trump himself” in addition to fact that “they like violence.”
Asman followed up by wondering if Bozell thought the movie will eventually come out, Bozell answered in the affirmative.
“They always do. They’ll find a way to do it or someone else will make a movie like this. You know, just imagine what would happen if — I was thinking about this — what if you had a movie, storyline about Texas rednecks picking off Mexicans crossing the border for fun? Imagine what would reaction there,” Bozell added.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Hollywood, I don't call them the elites. I think the elites are people they go after in many cases. But Hollywood is really terrible. You talk about racist, Hollywood is racist. What they're doing with the kind of movies they're putting out is very dangerous for our country, what Hollywood is doing is tremendous disservice to our country.
ASMAN: Let's bring in Brent Bozell, president of Media Research Center. So before we talk about the president's comments, are you happy that universal dropped the movie?
BRENT BOZELL: Well, not necessarily because I don't think it means anything, David. I think there are bigger issues to look at here. Why was this movie made to begin with? And it points to two things. One is the degree to which Hollywood despises conservatives and more importantly, despises Trump himself. Secondly, because they like violence. So all this talk about you know, beating of breasts and gnashing of teeth about awful, awful violence in El Paso, they’re loving it because it makes their movie plots. So, let's be very clear about this. So, they pulled it Friday but tomorrow they will make another one.
ASMAN: And what happens with the one they have in the can? I suspect there is, at some point, some way, they will get this movie out?
BOZELL: They always do. They’ll find a way to do it or someone else will make a movie like this. You know, just imagine what would happen if — I was thinking about this — what if you had a movie, storyline about Texas rednecks picking off Mexicans crossing the border for fun?
ASMAN: Right, right. Right. Just imagine.
BOZELL: Imagine what would reaction there?

I mean, it took over and over and over again for Senator McConnell to get them to understand he was the victim of it. And at same time, by the way, you now have Senator Warren and Senator Harris over this last weekend, have been making statements on Twitter accusing Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, of having been murdered, which is absolutely not true. The officer who shot him was vindicated as a sign of — as — as self-defense by the Obama Justice Department and so they are accusing a man, incorrectly and unfairly and horrifically of being a murderer and that’s okay, but Mitch McConnell defending himself from people who want to kill him, he’s wrong.
ASMAN: And what kills me is they're essentially accusing the Obama administration of racism, right? I mean if you take, if you take their way of looking at it, which is just extraordinary, but don't you see the tide turning? I saw last week as a pretty seminal moment where it seemed that the crazy hypocrisy, whether it’s Hollywood hypocrisy, Twitter, PC hypocrisy writ large really lost big time last week?
BOZELL: Absolutely and they keep blaming on algorithms, this, that, and the other. Liberals never complain about this stuff. It’s not happening to them. It is happening to Republicans. It’s happening to conservatives and it’s happening on a daily basis. Our side is being censored. So yeah, the public is seeing the game absolutely being played.
