Reminder: Trump Derangement Syndrome is very real and a terrible affliction that rots the patient’s brain. A particularly advanced case was on full display during Cuomo Prime Time following President Trump’s address on border security. According to two afflicted patients, the Trump administration approached the media on Monday to request airtime on Tuesday in order to distract from news about Paul Manafort that....hadn’t even happened yet? Okay then.
The scandal in question involved the lawyers for former Trump campaign head Paul Manafort forgetting to redact information in a filing that suggested their client shared campaign polling data with a Russian agent. If true, it could be counted as an incident of collusion.
In an appearance late in the program, Never Trumper Ana Navarro insisted the President’s address was not only lucky to have happened on the same day, but it was also planned. “And today! You know why today is a win for Trump despite this farce of an address to Trump nation,” she rhetorically asked host Chris Cuomo. “Because instead of this being the lead story, we are talking about his narrative that he put out with this, you know, with his address to the nation.”
“The same way that he did last week, let's remember, when he had that fake press briefing, which wasn't a briefing, where he took no questions,” Navarro added.
Cuomo immediately countered her nonsense by pointing to the fact that Trump “didn't know about the Mueller stuff.” “He has figured it out,” Navarro declared as she was backed up by former Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez, who proclaimed: “Ana is right.”
“That was just serendipitous tonight that he was talking about something else,” Cuomo continued as the deranged pair double down on their absurdity:
GUTIERREZ: Ana is absolutely right.
CUOMO: I don't think there's any evidence that this was artificial tonight.
NAVARRO: Listen, can I tell you something.
RICK SANTORUM: Come on, black helicopter crowd.
GUTIERREZ: Ana's right about one thing --
NAVARRO: He needs to stage something every day, because every day there’s a different scandal.
CUOMO: We had no reason to believe he knew about it.
“He wants to talk about a wall because the noose is tightening in the Mueller investigation,” Gutierrez continued to push. “And that’s why he wants -- in order to divert attention from the real serious constitutional crisis that we have.”
“He wants to talk about the wall because it helped him win the primary,” Cuomo exclaimed at his conspiracy theorist guest.
Do you know how far out there a guest has to be to have Cuomo be the voice of reason? This is CNN.

ANA NAVARRO: You both have been in Congress, and I've said this so many times. Every time the people around a principle is a very accurate reflection to that principle. The reason Paul Manafort went to work for Trump -- and remember, Rick, he didn't come into the Trump campaign at the beginning when nobody thought he could win, he came to the Trump campaign almost around the convention time, when he had already knocked off most of the -- what we thought were the credible candidates.
And today! You know why today is a win for Trump despite this farce of an address to Trump nation? Because instead of this being the lead story, we are talking about his narrative that he put out with this, you know, with his address to the nation. The same way that he did last week, let's remember, when he had that fake press briefing, which wasn't a briefing, where he took no questions.
CHRIS CUOMO: But he didn't know about the Mueller stuff.
NAVARRO: He has figured it out.
LUIS GUTIERREZ: Ana is right.
CUOMO: That was just serendipitous tonight that he was talking about something else.
GUTIERREZ: Ana is absolutely right.

GUTIERREZ: And that’s why he wants -- in order to divert attention from the real serious constitutional crisis that we have.
CUOMO: Look. And that’s fine. You can cast it that way. But here's what we know for sure. The idea that there's no suggestion or proof that the campaign had anything to do with Russian interference efforts can no longer be said without any type of check on it.
SANTORUM: If it's true.
