Keith Olbermann Wednesday called conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh a morbidly obese user of other people's Viagra.
During his pathetic Worst Person in the World segment, the "Countdown" host once again went after one of his favorite targets.
It seems that MSNBC is extending its raison d'etre beyond merely acting as the purveyor of Democrat talking points AND the President's number one cheerleader.
Now, on a regular basis, the pathetically small number of people that mysteriously watch this so-called "news" network are treated to disgraceful rants against commentators that actually have a respectable number of Americans interested in their views (video embedded below the fold with partial transcript):
KEITH OLBERMANN, HOST: But our winner, comedian Rush Limbaugh. Now you will probably be offended by what he called the President today, but consider for a second the larger picture. And the larger picture is that he's just inherited his own wind...So, it's okay now for Rush Limbaugh to make fun of somebody else's appearance? Then it's okay to make fun of Rush Limbaugh's appearance. Is that really a good rules change for a commentator who is bald, morbidly obese, and uses other people's Viagra? Rush "A Kind of Living, Breathing, Glass House" Limbaugh, today's Worst Person in the World.
Amazing.
Is this REALLY how the folks at MSNBC think they're going to improve their abysmal ratings: by spending hours attacking conservative talkers that are far more respected by the viewing public than THEIR hosts?
Interesting marketing strategy, dontcha think?
Post facto sidebar: It seems Olbermann's attacks on his competitors are increasing of late. Is this an indication that he's feeling the pressure from his bosses over his stagnating viewership numbers?
Is the clock ticking on Olbermann's career as a so-called journalist?
Stay tuned.
