High-strung actor Alec Baldwin considered running for New York City mayor this year.
Now he's giving advice to sext-obsessed mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner writing Thursday, "Weiner should quit, walk away, let some time wash over his reversals and re-emerge, another day, to attempt some future race for public office."
Baldwin, who's had frequent rampages with members of the press, seems hardly the one to criticize someone for reckless behavior.
But there he was Thursday saying, "Weiner has only one problem that disqualifies him from the race and that is that he is clearly addicted to reckless behavior."
You mean like going on a vulgarity-laced homophobic tirade against a British reporter?
Or getting into a physical altercation with New York Post reporters?
Or calling Senater James Inhofe (R-Ok.) an "oil whore" that should "retire to a solar-powered gay bar?"
Or calling the late Andrew Breitbart "a festering boil on the anus of public discourse?"
Or creating a scene on an American Airlines flight only to eventually get kicked off the plane?
Bear in mind that these incidents took place in the last 20 months!
But that didn't stop Baldwin from publicly criticizing Weiner.
"New York does not need a mayor who has an uncontrollable desire to self-destruct the moment he feels he has fooled the voters into giving him their trust," he hysterically wrote obviously missing the irony.
From there Baldwin trashed Christine Quinn for selling herself "in more ways than a NASCAR driver."
"Bill Thompson is a decent man, but uninspired at this point," Baldwin continued. "Liu is an operator who needs to go work in the private sector, where financial shenanigans are de rigueur."
He concluded by once again endorsing Bill de Blasio "who understands what New York's current priorities must be."
De Blasio must be thrilled to have the unstable Baldwin's support.
