During Sunday night’s Life, Liberty & Levin on the Fox News Channel, conservative author and talk radio host Mark Levin blasted the report Thursday released by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, stating that his special weekend of shows were necessary on the topic because “our very republic is at stake” considering several vital aspects of our nation have “broken down.”
Levin pointed to the separation of powers, the rule of law and the media -- which he also described as an “unfree press” -- as being responsible for the nation having “a mob mentality” because half of the people want to “continue the coup” against President Trump.
Levin also called the Mueller investigation “the greatest scandal in American history” before accusing the Democrat Party and the media, which he added are “one and the same,” of generating what he called “a disgrace” by reporting “mistake after mistake after mistake” during the past two years.
Just as the document has shifted attention away from charges that the President was “colluding with the Russians” -- instead focusing on accusations that Trump has attempted to obstruct justice, the host specifically criticized The Washington Post and The New York Times as having fallen hook, line, and sinker for this goalpost shifting. “You can’t tell the editorial page from the news page,” he exclaimed.
He also asserted that “we don’t have news reporters” on MSNBC and CNN since the latter cable channel had to “fire three fools for putting out information that was fake.” NewsBusters's Curtis Houck and Rich Noyes mentioned that CNN scandal in a January 2018 package of stories that the media had already gotten wrong (at that time) in the Trump-Russia probe.
The host then pointed to this information as evidence that “we don’t have a free press in this country,” and the liberals are “at it even as I speak.”
Referring back to the Mueller investigation, the FNC host also asked:
Where are these federal judges that were appointed as FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) Court judges? Where are they? They see what has taken place. They see they were lied to. They see that was opposition research and dishonest -- lying opposition research -- that was put in a dossier, used by the FBI to get a warrant.
Instead, “the media are leading the charge” after the release of the Mueller report, even though Levin slammed the “legal analysts” as being “pathetically foolish and hyper political.”
The host then slammed the “experts” on CNN and MSNBC by asking: “What the hell have they ever done?”
Next, he pointed at Jeffrey Toobin, who “used to work for an independent counsel, Lawrence Walsh,” during the Iran-Contra affair in the mid-1980s, when an investigation did not result in then-President Ronald Reagan being charged with trading arms for hostages.
“That didn’t end very well,” Levin stated, “did it?”
The conservative then turned his attention to Dan Abrams by describing the ABC chief legal analyst as “not particularly sharp either” because he and the other pundits have been “wrong the whole time.”
Levin also asked if any of the people covering the situation – including legal analysts, anchormen, “so-called reporters,” “so-called former federal prosecutors and academia and all the rest” -- would “apologize to the American people” for misrepresenting information and accusations against Trump during the past two years.
Of course, the answer to his question is obvious: None.
