Along with constantly hammering President Trump, talk show hosts occasionally divert their attention to support a liberal when they perceive that Democrat official is in trouble.
That was the case on Thursday evening, when Daily Show host Trevor Noah rushed to the defense of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi because the California Democrat was the target of a viral video that made her seem impaired.
Instead of criticizing Pelosi, Noah went all the way to the other extreme by sarcastically claiming that “all Internet videos are fake!”
After noting that “Facebook is back in the news” since the social media giant has refused to take down the file, he seemed to agree with their response but instead noted that the company “can’t police fake videos online because, if you think about it, that’s all videos online.”
“You can’t just take fake videos off the Internet,” the comedian stated. ”If the Internet had no fake videos, it would be the library.”
After seeing a comparison between the actual video and the altered segment, the people in the audience sighed their disappointment with the “doctored” version.
Noah then used a sentence with garbled words to point out the differences in Pelosi’s speech pattern across the videos.
The comedian then showed a picture of himself performing during an episode of Dancing With the Stars while noting:
On the one hand, I can see why Nancy wants the fake videos to be pulled off of Facebook. I mean, I get it.
There are real videos of me on Facebook I want to come down. I understand.
Of course, the comedian also noted: “I get that Nancy Pelosi and many people are saying these fake videos can affect elections, but I’m going to be honest with you. I think if a fake video of Nancy Pelosi slurring can make you vote for Trump, something tells me you were always going to vote for Trump,” he stated.
The Comedy Central host then offered his advice on “what I think Nancy Pelosi should do” and said that she should “just fight fire with fire” before noting: “If all these fake videos can work against you, then just let the fake videos work for you.”
Noah then showed pictures of well-known images, but with Nancy Pelosi’s head on other people’s bodies.
“Post about that time you knocked out Sonny Liston” as famous boxer Muhammad Ali or “tell Facebook about when you jumped a dirt bike over the Grand Canyon. Yeah?”
“And if people think that’s really you” in the doctored file, he added, “then just show them another video” with part of a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars movie with Pelosi’s head on the body of Rey, a female Jedi played by actress Daisy Ridley, with the film’s name changed from “The Rise of Skywalker” to “The Rise of Pelosi.”
“Wow!” Noah concluded. “I’m voting Democrat!”
