In Joy Reid’s never-ending quest to prevent President Trump from being re-elected in 2020, the MSNBC host has continued to slam the people who voted for the Republican occupant of the White House in 2016.
On Sunday's AM Joy, she received support from MSNBC regular Tiffany Cross, managing editor of The Beat DC website. As we learned President Trump had canceled plans to welcome the Afghan president and Taliban representatives to Camp David, Cross wise-cracked that “maybe Donald Trump is the secret Muslim President that they feared Barack Obama was.”
Reid asked Cross “do you expect to hear outrage coming from the Lindsey Grahams and the other hawks” in the Senate regarding the announcement, and she said:
Not a peep, and it’s kind of ironic because it turns out that maybe Donald Trump is the secret Muslim President that they feared Barack Obama was. [Laughter]
Where is the outrage from the right? I just don’t understand it, and the scary thing about all of this: This should be breaking news banners all across the country.
Cross also stated: “I wonder what Fox News is talking about. I just don’t think this is being taken seriously.” Several conservatives, starting with Rep. Liz Cheney, expressed opposition to hosting the Taliban at Camp David.
She also suggested Trump fans aren't very bright: "There are so many people removed from 9/11, so you go to his rallies and you ask these MAGA people, tell me the difference of Taliban and al-Qaida. I really doubt that they could do that."
Cross attempted to recall some liberal program like The Daily Show, "where they went to a Trump rally and started asking people questions, 'did you know that Obama was nowhere near the Oval Office on 9/11, don't you think that's strange?' And they’re like: ‘Yeah. We should look into that.’ It is crazy. I mean, these are the people we're trying to appeal to! And they have become synonymous with elected leaders on the Republican side on the Senate, and it’s scary. ”
She concluded "This is a national security risk, and I fear what will happen with this President having access to the codes."
He's had access to the codes for more than two and a half years now.
