Former CNN host D.L. Hughley ranted in a TMZ video posted Monday that Donald Trump is a “f***ing’ “liar” who “doesn’t deserve respect.” The former host of CNN’s D.L. Hughley Breaks the News blasted, “I think if the president were respect-worthy, you should do it.... He’s lied. A liar doesn’t deserve respect like that.”
Hughley added, “But I think you only give respect when you get it. And he’s been disrespectful to just about everybody, except the white supremacists who serve him.”
Again, this is a person that CNN, a network that broadcasts to red states and blue states, thought would be a good host. Regarding Trump’s wiretapping claims, the entertainer attacked, “We have two intelligence agencies investigating what he knows is a lie, because you think you can lie on a black man,” Hughley, 54, said. “F--k your respect.”
It’s not as though Hughley actually gave Trump a chance. Back on Election Night 2016, the host played the race card. Appearing on the Lifetime network’s live coverage, Hughley sneered, “People are talking about leaving [the country]. My daddy survived Jim Crow, I can survive Donald Trump.”
Hughley hosted his show on CNN until March of 2009.
