Yet another woman has come forward and accused Andrew Cuomo of sexual misconduct, the ninth person to speak out against the New York Democrat. Yet CBS seems intent on burying the claims of those who have stepped forward to tell their stories. On Monday, the CBS Evening News allowed a scant 23 seconds to the latest bombshell accusations. On Tuesday, the two hour-long CBS This Morning censored it entirely.
Here’s the entirety of anchor Norah O’Donnell’s Evening News coverage on Monday night: “Tonight New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing a new accusation of sexual misconduct, Sherry Vill, a married mother of three, claims Cuomo forcibly kissed her on both cheeks during a visit to her flood damaged home in home in 2017. Eight other women accuse the governor of misconduct. He denies touching anyone inappropriately.”
That was it.
The other two networks on Monday at least took the latest claim seriously. The NBC Nightly News devoted 1 minute and 30 seconds. World News Tonight on ABC did slightly better, managing 1 minute and 39 seconds.
On Nightly News, reporter Anne Thompson used ominous language for the governor: “It's the scandal New York Governor Andrew Cuomo can't escape. Today 55-year-old Sherry Vill says Cuomo kissed her twice without her consent as he visited her flood-damaged home in 2017. Vill appeared on-screen, recounting, “I felt like I was being man-handled.”
On World News Tonight, reporter Stephanie Ramos quoted Vill as saying “Cuomo exhibited a ‘highly flirtatious and inappropriate manner’ and the encounter was ‘highly sexualized.’” There appears to be so many accusers ABC has lost count. Ramos inaccurately stated, “[Vill] is now the tenth woman to accuse the governor.” She’s actually the ninth.
On Tuesday, CBS This Morning and ABC’s Good Morning America avoided the story, despite a combined four hours of available air time. Only NBC’s Today followed up with a 2 minute and 18 second report.
The amount of women speaking out against Cuomo keeps expanding. But so does the efforts of CBS to cover this all up. This is the same network that has been hiding or minimizing Cuomo’s Covid scandals.

STEPHANIE RAMOS: Another woman is coming forward with allegations of inappropriate behavior against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Sherry Vill claims Cuomo made her uncomfortable when he kissed her on the cheek in front of her husband and son during a 2017 tour of flood damage to her home near Lake Ontario.
SHERRY VILL: He leaned down over me and kissed my cheek. He wedged his face between the dog and mine, and kissed me on the other cheek. He said “That's what Italians do, kiss both cheeks.” I felt shocked and didn't understand what had just happened, but I knew I felt embarrassed and weird about his kissing me.
RAMOS: Vill posted this autographed photo of the visit sent to her from the governor's office on her Facebook page at the time. Today, show she says Cuomo exhibited a "Highly flirtations and inappropriate manner" and the encounter was "highly sexualized."
VILL: I was always afraid to report it. I am still afraid of him, but I am no longer willing to remain silent.
RAMOS: She is now the tenth [sic] woman to accuse the governor. Cuomo has refused calls to resign, maintaining he’s never touched anyone inappropriately.
CUOMO: I never harassed anyone. I never abused anyone. I never assaulted anyone now and I never would.

SHERRY VILL: I felt like I was being man-handled.
THOMPSON: A claim she backs up with pictures.
VILL: I felt he was acting in a highly flirtatious and inappropriate manner, especially in front of my family and neighbor.
CUOMO: Vill is at least the ninth known women to accuse the 63-year-old Democrat of inappropriate behavior or sexual harassment and the third to say the governor gave or attempted to give an unwanted kiss. Meanwhile, a lawyer for the Cuomo administration confirms the Attorney General's investigators are asking for documents and issuing subpoenas from the governor's staff, including his top aid Melissa DeRosa. The administration's attorney said “no one should be surprised, it happens in every investigation, and it's wildly premature to speculate what it means.” Cuomo, who's denied any inappropriate behavior, has recently deflected questions citing the AG's investigation. Tonight Cuomo's attorney said the governor often comforts New Yorkers with hugs and kisses but Vill says she's taking her allegation to the attorney general. Lester?
