Brian Williams Weeps for Biden: Virus Robbed Joe of ‘Majesty and Pomp’ of Job

April 28th, 2021 9:41 PM

The coronavirus has been a real drag on Joe Biden’s photo gallery. That’s the desperately sycophantic take from MSNBC’s Brian Williams as the network previewed the Democrat’s address to Congress.

Waiting for Biden to speak, Williams mourned, “Something to think about when we do see Joe Biden come down this aisle, Again, 36-year veteran of the Senate. But so far, because of the pandemic, and he has never used terms of  victimization, he has been robbed of so much of the majesty and pomp of the job. Campaign stops. Convention speech. After he won, giving his acceptance in a parking lot, in Wilmington. An inaugural address before an empty mall in Washington D.C.”

Over three million people are dead, but poor Joe Biden, right? A few minutes later, the MSNBC crew gushed over the “sartorial splendor” of Jill Biden:

RACHEL MADDOW: It is also history, we should note, that we've got the Second Gentleman looking on, along with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Joy, I can't believe you didn't have anything to say at all about the First Lady's dress.

JOY REID:  I held it in. I think it's very pretty. And you know I'm secretly texting people to find out.

MADDOW: You got very quiet.

REID: Yeah. I know her sartorial splendor will not go unremarked. I think she looks lovely. I love the flowers. I love the color.

Sounding like style experts at the red carpet of the Oscars, Reid swooned: "I think she looks lovely. And it's age appropriate. But it’s showing a bit of something. She’s giving you a little bit of reveal. But not too much reveal. So I love it."

MADDOW: Gabriella Hurst is the designer.

REID: See, you're into it, too.

MADDOW: No. I just tell people what they tell me. I don't understand what any of this means. I've been wearing the same thing for 13 years.

REID: I'm buying you that dress for Christmas.

MADDOW: Unless it's a black blazer, it won't fit.

REID: It ain’t going to work. But no, I think she looks lovely. And it's age appropriate. But it’s showing a bit of something. She’s giving you a little bit of reveal. But not too much reveal. So I love it.
