CBS Sunday Morning glowingly promoted a Broadway play about a controversial Cuban band, without once mentioning the word communism, and barely mentioning the Cuban Revolution. Its report promoting “Buena Vista Social Club” should be viewed as no less than softcore communist propaganda.

It’s been our long-held position that the “mainstream media” doesn’t care about anything or anyone except in service of an agenda. This is particularly true with regard to its coverage of all things related to Puerto Rico, and NBC’s latest fluff piece on trap megastar Bad Bunny is but the latest example.

For years, Spanish-language news media have been dominated by networks fully immersed in the immigration-industrial complex and acting as de facto clients of the Democratic Party. And for years, we called for an alternative. A recent interview on Fox Noticias demonstrates the importance of such an alternative.

Ramos is of course gone from Univision but still chooses to opine on the issues of the day, even if his sway within the community these days is more comparable to shouting-in-the-void Keith Olbermann.

Spanish-language news media often bill present themselves as advocates for the community that relies on them for news coverage in a language that they understand- often the ONLY language they understand. But time and time again, they prove themselves to be leftwing indoctrinators working against the community they purport to serve.

With the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States behind us and the early fulfillment of his promises on immigration underway, we can take a look back at the hopes that Spanish-language media placed on President Joe Biden opening up the border.
