WashPost Champions Al Franken as 'Perfect Senator' & 'Political Star'
March 19th, 2017 8:55 AM
To underline how The Washington Post is a Democratic Party newspaper, the Sunday edition has a front-page puff piece on Sen. Al Franken. “Franken takes a judicious approach,” reads the newspaper headline. Online, the love is more palpable: “Al Franken may be the perfect senator for the Trump era — a deadly serious funnyman.”

PolitiFact Wrong: Both Obamas Attacked Hillary During '08 Campaign
October 19th, 2016 3:20 PM
Today's installment of Stupid Fact Checks again goes after Politifact, this time on two items in one "fact check." First, the web site's Louis Jacobson claims that Michelle Obama couldn't possibly have been talking about the Clintons on August 12, 2007 when she told an audience about the importance of a First Family serving as a "role model" in the White House. It's obvious to any human without…

Matthews Falsely Claims Dems Haven't Had WH, Congress since 1960s
August 17th, 2016 1:10 AM
Tuesday’s Hardball on MSNBC featured textbook Chris Matthews with liberal spin (fretting over Donald Trump bringing up Clinton scandals in the debates), a decent segment (a touching tribute to the late John McLaughlin), and creepiness (uttering “what’s new, pussycat” to a female guest), but it also included a struggle with the facts as Matthews claimed that 2016 marks a chance for Democrats to…

Scarborough: Cruz 'Even Worse Than Trump' for GOP Senate Candidates
April 14th, 2016 9:26 AM
The Coming Cruz Senate Apocalypse? That's Joe Scarborough's baleful prophesy, should the senator from Texas snatch the Republican presidential nomination. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough asserted that "Ted Cruz is the worst-case scenario for [GOP] Senate candidates, even worse than Donald Trump."
So bad, in fact, that Joe agreed with Mike Barnicle that Cruz as nominee = Chuck Schumer as…

October 14th, 2013 12:24 AM
On Friday, NewsBusters had the privilege of being the first organization to interview New York Times bestselling author Ann Coulter about her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over Three - Especially a Republican.”
What follows is the first part of the discussion (video follows with transcript):
Chris Matthews: Laura Ingraham Wrong About Voter ID Laws Being Nondisc
August 27th, 2013 9:18 PM
One of the media’s recent race-baiting memes is to claim that voter ID laws are being proposed by Republicans to suppress minority votes.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is in lockstep with this falsehood, and claimed without producing any evidence on Tuesday’s Hardball that conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham was wrong when she recently said such laws were nondiscriminatory (video follows with…
At Politico, Untagged Former Biden Adviser Bernstein Fails to Make Cas
August 12th, 2013 9:56 PM
An August 6 opinion column at the Politico labeled co-authors Jared Bernstein and Paul Van de Water as "senior fellows at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities." CBPP, that oxymoron known as a "leftist think tank," went unlabeled. The Politico also must have thought that Bernstein's background as the Chief Economist and Economic Adviser to Vice President Joseph Biden from 2009 to 2011 was…
MSNBC Panel Fawns Over NYT Writer 'Proud' Of Mother's Abortion
July 9th, 2013 5:11 PM
The July 9 broadcast of Now with Alex Wagner wouldn’t be complete without a panel discussing Texas State Senator Wendy Davis – and the abortion battle in Texas. Yet, it reached a new level with New York Times op-ed contributor Beth Matusoff Merfish declaring that she was “proud” her mother underwent an abortion since “she had the wisdom and the courage to know that her own potential would be…
MSNBC’s Harris-Perry: ObamaCare Congress Was 'Most Incredible Legisl
June 4th, 2013 5:40 PM
Usually, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry only toils for the Obama administration on the weekends. Last Friday, she worked overtime. On the May 31 edition of Al Sharpton’s PoliticsNation, Harris-Perry fawned over the Democrat-controlled 111th Congress, which sat for the first two years of President Obama’s first term, as the “most incredible legislative session in American history.”
Yes,…
Media Didn't Worry About Dems Overplaying 'GOP War on Women' or 'GOP C
June 4th, 2013 10:16 AM
You can't swing a dead cat these days without hitting some liberal media member cautioning the Republicans to not "overplay their hand" concerning the various scandals now plaguing the White House.
Do you remember the press being concerned that the Democrats would overplay 2006's "Republican Culture of Corruption" or last year's "Republican War on Women?"
CNN Takes Jab at Retiring Bachmann; 'Butt of a Thousand Jokes
May 29th, 2013 12:08 PM
CNN couldn't hold back a parting shot at Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) when the Congresswoman announced on Wednesday that she would be retiring after 2014.
On Wednesday morning's Newsroom, anchor Carol Costello said Bachmann became "the butt of a thousand jokes" and CNN dug up a 2012 Saturday Night Live mockery of her, as well as Newsweek's unflattering 2011 cover of the Congresswoman as…
AP Headline and Story Label OH-01 (GOP Congressman's 2012 Victory Marg
March 31st, 2013 9:54 PM
I guess we had better start paying closer attention to how the establishment press labels -- and mislabels -- congressional districts.
The headline at the Associated Press at a lengthy column composed by Charles Babington bemoaning the lack of willingness of Ohio First District Congressman Steve Chabot to "compromise," i.e., sell out his principles, reads as follows: "PARTISAN DISCORD FINDS…
Politico's Isenstadt: 'Democrats' Drive to Retake House Falters': Tran
November 5th, 2012 7:37 AM
Though it occupies four web pages, it's hard to avoid thinking that Alex Isenstadt at Politico is hoping news consumers only look at his story's headline ("Democrats' drive to retake House falters") and not its damning yet still woefully incomplete content.
The headline would make you think that Dems will gain seats, but not enough to achieve a majority. Isenstadt bravely concludes early on…
Media Debate Fail: Obama, the Auto Bailout and China
October 23rd, 2012 9:52 AM
In their third Presidential debate analysis, the Jurassic Press Media last night and thus far this morning have failed utterly in their role as fact checker and record-corrector - at least when it comes to what President Barack Obama had to say.
As but one glaring example, there were the President’s absurd assertions regarding the auto bailout and China.
