The Associated Press pathetically tries to explain why what is now a recession according to the standard definition is not necessarily a recession.

On Thursday morning, the Commerce Department released 2nd quarter GDP numbers showing that for the second quarter in a row, the economy suffered negative growth. For any American with a basic understanding of economics, that means the United States is officially in a recession. But according to the broadcast news networks, that doesn't mean we are in a recession.

Four liberal outlets peered into their crystal balls and declared that the economy would show signs of growth, not shrinkage, just days and weeks ahead of the government’s second-quarter GDP report. 

Despite the spin from the White House and their allies in the liberal media, the Biden Recession is here and we’re living through it. But according to the cast of ABC’s The View on Thursday, only “some say we are officially in a recession” and climate change is “more important” than the financial pain and struggles of average Americans.

Stephanie Ruhle is the host of The 11th Hour and MSNBC’s chief business correspondent and it is in that later role that she appeared on Thursday’s Jose Diaz-Balart Reports to discuss the state of the economy. Don’t worry about the floundering economy, the White House has explained that it is simply “recalibrating.” That’s according to the network journalists on Thursday who parroted the Biden administration’s attempt to redefine a recession as something other than two quarters of negative growth.

CNN chief business correspondent Christine Romans joined both New Day and CNN Newsroom on Thursday to discuss the new GDP numbers that showed the U.S. economy has met the definition of a recession. This definition, she argued, should be ignored and it should be remembered that some people always feel like they are in a recession due to income inequality.

Politico, like the rest of the leftist media, has franticly attempted to assist the Biden administration's quest to rewrite the definition of recession. So much so that they're now gaslighting their readers into believing that even if tomorrow's GDP report shows the second quarter was negative, the report is inaccurate. 

Wednesday’s White House press briefing wasn’t smooth sailing for Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (as most if not all are for someone in way over their head) with Fox’s Peter Doocy and a select few others reporters who pressed her on the Biden administration’s disinformation campaign to redefine what a recession is ahead of what’s expected to be a dour second quarter number on Thursday.

The liberal media machine is kicking into overdrive to convince the American people not to believe their lying eyes on the economy. Don’t worry if the second-quarter GDP numbers are atrocious, the narrative goes. It doesn’t necessarily mean we’re in a recession.

Parroting the new Biden talking points that a recession isn’t a recession, NBC on Wednesday said the whole thing is up and the air. According to reporter Tom Costello, “it depends on who you ask.” So who did he ask? Well, the Biden White House of course.

After spending Monday praising the Biden economy as the country barrels towards a possible recession, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle used Tuesday’s The 11th Hour to say to conservatives that miss the Trump economy, that things were not that good under the prior administration, even without the pandemic.

The New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman went from admitting he completely botched his “transitory” inflation calls to gaslighting readers over the possibility of a recession.

In a conversation on Monday’s CNN Newsroom with host Ana Cabrera, Washington Post Opinion columnist Catherine Rampell refused to look at inflation or recession in a bad light. In fact, they refused to even admit we were possibly in a recession, according to the official definition it holds.
