On CBS’s Face the Nation, anchor Margaret Brennan spent much of her interview Sunday with Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) by arguing with him that Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t advocate racial equity when it comes to helping Floridians whose homes were destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Ian. 

On ABC’s This Week, co-moderator John Karl on Sunday used a portion of his interview with Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) to fight with him over whether Rubio will support federal aid for his state’s hurricane recovery efforts if the bill has pork spending in it. Despite Rubio making his position crystal clear over the years, Karl insisted on haranguing the Senator. 

On Friday, Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart and New York Times columnist David Brooks joined PBS NewsHour host Judy Woodruff for their standard discussion of the week’s events which this week included dire warnings that more Hurricane Ian-like storms will occur if Republicans do not fall in line and vote for their preferred policies.

It was a week of Biden-Harris gaffes -- and the media energetically ignoring Biden-Harris gaffes. Vice President Harris mysteriously said we had a great relationship with North (and not South) Korea. President Biden held a hunger event where he wanted to be bipartisan, so he asked on camera where Rep. Jackie Walorski was -- when she died weeks ago in a car crash.

In Thursday’s New York Times, reporters Reid Epstein and Alan Rappeport tried to paint Gov. Ron DeSantis as hypocritical for receiving federal assistance in the wake of the hugely damaging Hurricane Ian under the hostile headline “Ron DeSantis Pauses Political Bomb-Throwing as Hurricane Ian Hits.” They decided to drag Covid into the act, foolishly, given DeSantis’s impressive record…

A meteorologist known for smacking down the sensationalism of eco-fanatics said his website was demonetized by censorship giant Google. University of Alabama, Huntsville Principal Research Scientist Dr. Roy Spencer posted a blog on his website Jan. 7 saying that he had been demonetized for “unreliable and harmful claims.”
