On Monday evening, the broadcast networks began paying more attention to the anti-government protests in Iran, with ABC's World News Tonight and the CBS Evening News for the first time finally running full reports on the events. But ABC's piece also characterized President Donald Trump as "adding fuel to the fire" by tweeting out support for the protesters.

Monday morning's newscasts made a stark illustration of how much importance FNC places on the issue of human rights in Iran in contrast with the broadcast networks and CNN as Fox and Friends managed to spend five times as much time on the anti-government protests as ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN all combined that morning.

On Sunday evening, the NBC Nightly News was the only network evening newscast to run a full report on the anti-government demonstrations in Iran. But, on the down side, the report dismissed President Donald Trump's words of support for protesters as not helpful, and did little to counter the authoritarian regime's propaganda.

After CBS initially ignored the Iranian people’s uprising against their oppressors from Thursday to Saturday, and then downplayed the murder of two protesters and shootings of others earlier on Sunday, White House Correspondent Major Garrett finally dedicated some sort of significant time to the subject (two minutes 31 seconds) for the network when he was filling in on Face The Nation.…

After ABC began their Sunday morning programming by ignoring the Iranian regime’s brutal murder of two anti-government protesters overnight, the network’s make-believe Republican Matthew Dowd took to This Week and declared that the United States had no moral authority to call them out on their human rights abuses.

After the media were initially slow to give attention to anti-government protests in Iran that have been running for three days, on Saturday evening the NBC Nightly News led with the story and put its competitors on ABC and CBS to shame as ABC's World News Tonight only gave the story 21 seconds, and the CBS Weekend News ignored the story completely. Chants of “Death to Rouhani” and “We don’t want an Islamic republic” echoed through the streets of Iran on Saturday, marking the third day of fierce anti-government protests sweeping the country. President Trump weighed in, tweeting: “Many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with regime’s corruption & its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad.”…

Over the weekend, several police officers were shot and injured in Pennsylvania in an apparent terrorist attack by a man from Egypt. CBS has so far managed to stand out by completely ignoring the story as ABC, NBC, CNN, FNC and MSNBC have all to some extent given attention to the subject.

On Monday, CBS This Morning was alone among the morning newscasts in ignoring Guatemala's announcement that it will be first to follow the U.S. lead and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and move its embassy there. The CBS Evening News also avoided mentioning Guatemala as ABC's World News Tonight and the NBC Nightly News were both preempted.

Josh Meyer, a senior investigative reporter for the Politico website, was a guest on the weeknight program Fox News @Night on Tuesday to defend his article against accusations from former Obama administration officials who attempted to discredit his report and smear Politico.

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle, The Atlantic editor-at-large and MSNBC contributor Steve Clemons actually made a veiled Adolf Hitler reference to attack Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as President Donald Trump over the U.S. relocating its embassy to Jerusalem.  

On Thursday’s Morning Joe, the show’s liberal panelists were still reeling from the aftermath of President Trump’s speech yesterday publicly pledging to uphold Jerusalem’s status as the capital of Israel. MSNBC’s morning pundits were not upset at the violent protests being orchestrated by Palestinian authorities though. Instead, they blamed Trump for “setting the Middle East on fire.”

On Thursday's New Day, CNN global affairs analyst Aaron David Miller reacted negatively to President Donald Trump's plan to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and, while reacting to reports of violent protests by Palestinian Arabs, hyperbolically likened Trump's decision to hitting Arabs on the head with a hammer.
