The bar for “collusion” just keeps getting lower. According to MSNBC political director Chuck Todd, an Attorney General briefing his own President about a soon-to-be-released report now meets the standard. 

CNN brings back Chris Cuomo to guest host on his former show, New Day. Cuomo proceeds to blast AG Bill Barr over his handling of the Mueller report, as if he's merely shielding the president. Cuomo also indulges in a humble brag about his looks. 

On Tuesday, NewsBusters research analyst Bill D’Agostino compiled a roundup of several incidents in which liberal media shriekers declared Attorney General William Barr was orchestrating a “cover-up” of President Trump’s crimes with redactions to the Mueller Report. But it appears as though all their hyperventilating, pearl-clutching, hyperbole, and other defining verbs were for not.

Was Hardball host Chris Matthews speaking to viewers Wednesday night from the past? Because it sure felt like Matthews had rewound back to March 22 because, just as things were on the day the Mueller report officially concluded, the mood of the MSNBC pundit was DEFCON-1 screeching all hour about how the Mueller report rollout “looks like an inside job.”

New York Times columnist Frank Bruni claimed on CNN's New Day on Wednesday that President Donald Trump lacks the smarts to understand the full Mueller report. "I'm imagining someone doing a slideshow, you know, with little captions, here's what the report says. He may not. He doesn't have that sort of discipline or span of attention."

Eager for Thursday’s release of the Mueller report, on Wednesday morning, MSNBC anchor Hallie Jackson and the Washington Post’s Phil Rucker could barely contain their excitement at the prospect of scouring the document for any “derogatory” information that may make President Trump “look bad.” Jackson even claimed there was “breakdown-level anxiety” throughout the White House.

Absolutely no one in the media has seen the Mueller report, a redacted version of which is due to be released on Thursday, but the utter lack of information hasn’t kept liberal journalists from claiming Attorney General William Barr is acting in “bad faith,” doing the “dirty work” of “protecting the President” as part of a possible “cover-up” of Donald Trump’s alleged misdeeds.

During a lengthy panel discussion on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports on Monday, just minutes after word came down that the Mueller report would be released to the public on Thursday, Mitchell and her guests worried that it would be a “disappointment.” Even so, the pundits all tried to reassure themselves that the report could still bring President Trump’s downfall.
