Parkland School Shooting

When Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough did the unthinkable and praised President Trump for holding a “listening session” with victims of gun violence, Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic editor-in-chief, said that his praise serves as an example of “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”

While liberal journalists are exploiting the Parkland shooting tragedy to get more gun control legislation, including another “assault weapons” ban, what they’re not telling their viewers is they know it won’t work. Or at least that’s what CBS News’s Lesley Stahl recognized way back in 1999, when she admitted that the 1994 assault weapons ban did nothing to stop Columbine.

Nina Burleigh really blew it this time. Wednesday morning, Newsweek retracted their reporter's Monday story on "How an Alt-Right Bot Network Took Down Al Franken." Newsweek's move leads to a bigger question: When will the Associated Press correct or retract reports claiming Florida high school massacre perpetrator Nikolas Cruz was connected with white nationalism?

On ABC’s February 22 show, The View hosts addressed the White House listening session and CNN town hall that occurred the day before on the Parkland school shooting, but spread some misinformation along the way, as usual.  

While discussing President Trump's recent tweets about the gun debate on New Day Thursday morning, CNN political analyst Joshua Green suggested that the tweets serve as proof that the President is "flailing" and "doesn't know what he's doing."

NRA representative Dana Loesch on Thursday absolutely demolished a hypocritical, gun-grabbing media and politicians who don’t really do anything to keep mentally unbalanced people from buying guns. As they’ve done all week, ABC’s Good Morning America spent several reports touting the “impressive” and “passionate” teen gun control activists from Parkland, Florida, who met with President Trump yesterday at the White House and who screeched “murderer” at Florida Senator Marco Rubio and the NRA’s Dana Loesch at CNN’s ruckus, scripted “townhall” last night.

New York Times media reporter Michael Grynbaum smeared conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh as a Florida shooting conspiracist in “Dubious Theories on Shooting In Florida Find an Audience." Grynbaum opportunistically lumped Rush and former congressman Jack Kingston into conspiracists making nutty claims about “false flags” and “crisis actors.”

The Wednesday CNN town hall promoting gun bans and moderated by Jake Tapper was arguably a train wreck from the beginning. Between a student saying Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) reminded him of the shooter and shouts of ‘murderer’ at NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, it was out of control. But in the wee hours of Thursday morning, things got worse for the anti-gun network when the local Florida ABC…

The second portion of CNN’s town hall/mob promoting gun control on Wednesday night featured Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch and, on cue, it was brutally hostile towards Loesch. Along with repeatedly being heckled by students and other attendees as a “murderer,” Stoneman Douglas student Emma Gonzalez questioned Loesch’s motherhood. 

On Tuesday, CNN's Chris Cuomo retweeted a Monday tweet by Cody Davis, who claimed that "I was able to buy an AR-15 in five minutes," even though "I’m 20 and my ID is expired." The young man's account of what he supposedly did 20 months ago indicates that he never genuinely began the gun-purchasing process. One might forgive Cuomo for a careless retweet; but once sharp criticism poured in, he…

Wednesday's CNN town hall to promote gun control and gun grabbing was off the rails from the very start. So-called moderator Jake Tapper sat back as the wild crowd targeted Republican Senator Marco Rubio with boos and jeers for basically just being there. MSNBC’s Katy Tur has a glaring habit of letting her anti-Republican hatred run wild while confronting and slamming GOPers on issues she knows little about. The same was true when she hosted the 2:00 p.m. hour of MSNBC Live on Wednesday when the network’s cameras were in Florida Governor Rick Scott’s office documenting anti-gun protestors screaming at the receptionists while he wasn’t there.

In the wake of the tragic Parkland, Florida shooting, there have been some disgusting and crazy conspiracy theories attacking some of the survivors as “actors” who didn’t really suffer through an ordeal.
