However, getting Colbert to defend all of those teachings on his CBS platform is a different story as evidence by Thursday’s show where he attacked new Speaker Mike Johnson as “extremely anti-LGBTQ” and a “dick.”

The late night comedians welcomed Mike Johnson to the Speakership on their Wednesday shows by not just by noting his generic name, but also labeling him “anti-gay, anti-choice, pro-conspiracy” “dick” who Republicans selected to “bore everyone into forgetting how extreme he is.”

You can’t make this up. Michigan’s pro-Palestine Rep. Rashida Tlaib ostentatiously displays a Palestinian flag outside the door to her office. That gets media coverage. But a couple flags away (she has a few, presumably one being the Michigan state flag) she has, yes indeed, the rainbow LGBTQ flag. And the mainstream media? Silence.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid freaked out on her Thursday show that Republicans are seeking to take away another supposed right from the American people: the right to for sexually explicit material in school or as she put it “children’s right to read.”
