There was good news in the latest jobs report. The national unemployment rate fell back to 3.8 percent in February, although the numbers of jobs added was well below expectations. The Hispanic unemployment rate also fell to a new record low of 4.3 percent. But that record didn’t make it into any of the network evening shows that night.

MRC Latino is mostly known for its constant drumbeat pointing out and countering slanted or dishonest reporting in the U.S. Hispanic news segment. In recent months, the critique has often included the relative dearth of reporting on U.S. economic news.

Jobs growth has been one of the brightest economic growth points under President Donald Trump’s administration. Even the year after many economists anticipated the U.S. was “at or near” full employment, monthly jobs gains continued to add up. What hasn’t added up is the evening news shows giving the president or his policies credit for helping spur that jobs boom.

Job growth has been on a tear under President Donald Trump and the booming labor market helped narrow the unemployment gap for prominent minority groups. The networks just didn’t bother reporting it 95 percent of the time. PALM BEACH, FL — While most attention has been focused on immigrants trying to enter the United States over America's southern border, there is legal migration taking place that has been largely ignored, though it may have at least as much economic and political impact as the other. People are moving out of high-tax states to Florida and other states with lower tax burdens.

January was a “blockbuster” month for job gains, in spite of the government shutdown. The 304,000 jobs added was nearly twice as many as the 172,000 forecasters anticipated. Only it didn’t appear that way on the broadcast evening news shows.

Once again showing systemic anti-Trump bias, the principal national evening newscasts of the six leading Spanish-language television networks in the United States all pointedly declined to report on President Donald Trump’s soaring job approval ratings among Hispanic-Americans.

Lady Gaga started off her new Las Vegas residency, dubbed “Enigma,” with a political bang. The famous avant-garde singer, now A-list actress, took time out of her Saturday show to blast Vice President Mike Pence as a “disgrace” to his Christianity, and complained to the crowd about the “fucking president” not getting the government back up and running.

The December jobs report showing 312,000 jobs added was a “boom,” a “surge,” and a huge “surprise.” While all three networks noticed the big economic story on Jan. 4, ABC World News Tonight with David Muir didn’t bother to spend much time telling people about it.

In yet another telltale sign that they just can’t take any more Trump era “winning” on the economy, the principal national evening news programs of Univision, Telemundo and CNN en Español all neglected to inform their viewers that Hispanic-American unemployment hit its third record low achieved under the Trump administration, falling to 4.4% in December, 2018.

The December jobs report crushed expectations on Jan. 4, with 312,000 jobs added, a strong participation rate, wage gains and two months of upward revisions. That was 136,000 jobs more than expected.

The liberal media were at it again in 2018, continuing to misreport, exaggerate, censor and spin business and economic news. Some moments were laughable, such as when a New York Times reporter implied America no longer uses coal for energy. Others, such as the warning of a “climate genocide,” were no laughing matter.
