On Tuesday's New Day show, as John Avlon recited a piece on the history of Presidents facing opponents within their own party, the CNN political analyst took a gratuitous cheap shot at Pat Buchanan's 1992 Republican convention speech by vaguely likening him to Adolf Hitler. The crack had nothing to do with the overall point of the segment.

On Thursday's New Day show, during a panel discussion of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that is a victory for the Trump administration, CNN regulars fretted about the Supreme Court's willingness to hear the case more quickly than usual. On Friday's New Day, CNN's John Berman interviewed the NFL's Ryan Russell about his decision to announce that he is bisexual. The CNN host gushed over the decision and lamented that Russell is the only NFL member who is openly gay. Berman also ended up essentially pining for more high-profile gay athletes to come out of the closet as he and co-host Alisyn Camerota discussed the issue.

As Hurricane Dorian continues to wreak havoc across the eastern seaboard, liberal cable anchors are fixated on perhaps the most frivolous piece of the news cycle: President Trump’s poorly-doctored hurricane map. It was Alisyn Camerota, an ostensibly objective CNN news host, telling viewers on Wednesday morning's New Day that if you want more gun control, you're just gonna have to vote Democrat in 2020.

On Monday morning, CNN's New Day show continued its crusade for more gun control as it not only excluded conservatives from taking part in its panel discussions on the matter, but it actually utilized the all-liberal foursome of Andrew Gillum, Bakari Sellers, April Ryan, and Angela Rye to discuss the issue not only during its first hour, but again during the third hour of the three-hour show.
