The ABC, CBS and NBC evening news networks continued their pathetic gambit to shield President Joe Biden from any suggestion that his economy is in a recession.

Now that we’re coming up on the one-year anniversary of President Joe Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal which left thirteen American service members dead and hundreds of Americans trapped at the hands of the Taliban after their inevitable takeover, ABC’s World News Tonight decided to revisit the story after ignoring it for months. 

On Tuesday, the day after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida home at Mar-a-Lago, ABC’s World News Tonight highlighted how not only have Trump’s allies come out in opposition to the FBI’s raid and its lack of transparency but some of Trump’s biggest critics have expressed their dissatisfaction.

Picking up where they left off during their respective morning shows, the three evening broadcast network news shows on Monday gushed over the passage of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” which they labeled as “blockbuster” and “historic.” 

On Thursday morning, the Commerce Department released 2nd quarter GDP numbers showing that for the second quarter in a row, the economy suffered negative growth. For any American with a basic understanding of economics, that means the United States is officially in a recession. But according to the broadcast news networks, that doesn't mean we are in a recession.
