July 14th, 2020 12:52 PM

The New York Times’ gross double standards on what constitutes acceptable opinion has been demonstrated once again. An opinion piece from Republican Sen. Tom Cotton  called for military troops to be deployed to quell the rioting that accompanied the protests over George Floyd's killing. Cotton’s essay caused a “woke” staff revolt, with bizarre accusations that the…

Judge Throws Out Sarah Palin's Defamation Suit Against the NY Times

August 29th, 2017 10:55 PM
Sarah Palin’s defamation lawsuit against The New York Times was thrown out on Tuesday, not because the Times didn’t recklessly accuse Palin of inciting the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords. It’s because by the standards of standing libel law, one has to find “malice,” which is much harder to prove than the false statement of the Times.

NYT Opinion Editor Was Lead Atlantic Mag Editor During Giffords Saga

August 13th, 2017 8:23 PM
On Thursday, a federal court judge in New York made what Eriq Gardner at the Hollywood Reporter called an "unusual move" in Sarah Palin's libel lawsuit against the New York Times. It is indeed extraordinarily unusual, and would appear not to bode well for the Times — which likely explains why the paper's colleagues in the establishment press are, for the most part, either not reporting it at all…

Rosenthal Quits as NYT Opinion Boss, Hit GOP for Rancor, 'Racism'

March 14th, 2016 6:07 PM
Andrew Rosenthal, New York Times editorial page editor since 2007, is leaving the position in late April. Over his term he repeatedly revealed himself to be a charmless and classless critic of conservatives. Rosenthal’s many lowlights are featured on the paper’s editorial blog, and he drove the Sunday Review section sharply to the left during his tenure. Before that, Rosenthal provided a vital (…
