In the midst of their midterm results coverage on Wednesday, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News touted the diversity of the Democratic Party’s field of winners. But in the process, they celebrated the election of Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The problem? She’s been accused of anti-Semitism because of her anti-Israel stance.

With Democrats winning control of the House of Representatives during Tuesday’s midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was giddy over the prospect of liberal lawmakers using their “newfound political power” to “flex their muscles” and launch a series of investigations into the Trump administration.

Despite the eventual projections that Democrats would retake the House of Representatives on Tuesday night, NBC News was still uneasy, admitting that “Donald Trump and his followers are still intact” and “there is not a blue tsunami” that could be because of the unpopularity of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

As the first polls began the close, liberal broadcast networks ABC and NBC were touting how confident the Democrats appeared despite lingering worries from 2016. As they were nearing the end of their political coverage for World News Tonight, ABC anchor David Muir noted: “the Democrats are projecting confidence as well, as you might expect.”

In an effort to push the issue that Democrats want to talk about in the final days of the midterm campaign, on Wednesday, both NBC’s Today show and CBS This Morning rejected efforts by President Trump to focus on illegal immigration and instead touted health care as the key to Democratic victory on Election Day.

During Wednesday’s Morning Joe, the panel expressed outrage at President Trump calling porn star Stormy Daniels "horseface" and so the outrage culminated in a rant by co-host Mika Brzezinski against Trump, questioning his fitness for office and urged cabinet officials to invoke the 25th Amendment.

Liberal cable news outlets were outraged over the weekend when Republicans condemned the thuggish behavior of leftwing protesters and political groups repeatedly attempting to disrupt the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh. CNN and MSNBC hosts urgently rushed to defend the throngs of activists, in a melodramatic panic over the newest addition to the GOP leadership’s lexicon: “mob.”

On Friday afternoon, moderate Senators Susan Collins and Joe Manchin announced they both would vote yes on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. As you might expect, MSNBC hosts didn’t take the news well. Liberal host Chris Hayes actually dropped his head in sorrow at the news. 

On Thursday night, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews was in a more jubilant mood than he might have been earlier in the week on the issue of stopping Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh thanks to the “profile in courage” from Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp (ND) in opposing Kavanaugh. During extensive pre-hearing coverage on Thursday’s Today show, co-host Hoda Kotb was already wondering if Senate Republicans would abandon Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh: “Is there a point in here where some Republicans just say, ‘You know what? This is a little too muddy. Why don’t we just go ahead and put Brett Kavanaugh over here and go with our next person in line’?”

A handful of cable pundits were less than thrilled to see highly political porn star lawyer Michael Avenatti injecting himself into the Judge Brett Kavanaugh controversy.

On Wednesday night, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News remained aboard the proverbial liberal media party bus pushing Congress to impeach President Trump and delay or thwart Brett Kavanaugh from reaching the Supreme Court following Tuesday’s bad Trump headlines involving Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort.
