In the early days of the Second Trump Administration, it appeared that ABC World News Tonight had taken time to reflect and reconsider their ways, toning things down from their wild subservience to Joe Biden. Well, the time for reflection has ended. And based on the network’s hysterical coverage of all things DOGE and Elon Musk, it appears that they’re back to their old ways.

The early successes of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in exposing rampant waste, fraud and abuse throughout the federal government have left the left scrambling- including their allies in the media. The resulting derangement rendered ABC News a crisis spokesperson for the beleaguered Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

On Monday, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today saw no reason amid their latest hyperventilating about President Trump fulfilling a campaign promise of shrinking the size of government — and that doing so has triggered “a constitutional crisis” — to note a CBS poll showing his approval at a record 53 percent.

The media are united in their purpose of trying to save government workers from the DOGE ax. Across the dial, each evening newscast devoted significant time to creating in their respective audiences an empathy for government bloat.

The Resistance Media continue to seethe over the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) march through the federal government, particularly through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID coverage trod old and familiar tropes, seeking to elicit sympathy for the dying agency.

With Wednesday’s Today (and ABC’s Good Morning America), an NBC flagship newscast covered a smear perpetuated by its own website that Democrats on the Senate Armed Services Committee have a sworn affidavit from secretary of defense pick Pete Hegseth’s former sister-in-law alleging he abused his second wife. The problem? Said ex-wife denied it.

As the sun sets on the Biden presidency, the Regime Media has turned their focus on his legacy. Across the dial, Sunday programming discussing his legacy turned mostly funereal.  

President Joe Biden’s denunciations of an emerging “oligarchy” and “tech-industrial complex” appear to be, beyond a ham-handed attempt at an Eisenhower moment of his own, a clarion call to the media in the waning days of his presidency. If network news is to serve as a guide, it appears that the media have heeded the call.

A carefully elaborated media smear campaign, combining the worst elements of the Bork and Kavanaugh confirmation processes, crashed and burned. Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth appears to have bolstered his confirmation chances, and the media were not thrilled to report that.

The Regime Media, with just weeks remaining in the Biden presidency, appear uncertain as to how to cover one of his big legacy items: the commutation of 37 out of 40 federal death row inmates. Evening news coverage ranged from treating it as an afterthought to making it all about Biden. 

With Matt Gaetz having stepped down from attorney general consideration almost two weeks ago, the liberal media have turned their ire toward decorated Army veteran, best-selling military author, and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth.
