POLL RESULTS: Worst Media Take of the Week Winner!

Elite Acela journalist Jon Karl showed his true colors during an exchange with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick over the reshoring of American industry. In response to Lutnick’s remarks on the national security component of the tariffs levied against China, Karl questioned whether America would go back to being “a nation of cobblers.”  

An inflation report coming in lower than expected with a core inflation number under 3 for the first time since the pandemic would have drawn elated A-block coverage across the “legacy” evening news. But a similar report at the outset of Trump II? Not so much.

Along with claiming President Trump engaged Wednesday in insider trading, ABC’s The View featured more insanity on Thursday with moderator/longtime co-host Whoopi Goldberg openly encouraging Americans to give more in taxes to the government to make up for slashed spending and then claiming the First Amendment has ceased to exist.

Instead of seeing the 90-day pause on tariffs for most of the world and the rallying stock market as a sign of trade negotiations going well, ABC News co-host Sunny Hostin used her platform on Thursday’s edition of The View to accuse President Trump of “certainly” being “guilty of insider trading.” Her evidence? A social media post vaguely touting the market.

With some of the roadblocks to the prosecution of the second failed would-be assassin of President Donald Trump removed, the shocking details of his plot are revealed. And for some strange reason, NBC News has still not aired any of the shocking details on their television offerings.

Every once in a while, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel will do a man-on-the-street interview type of segment where he sends someone out to demonstrate how dumb Donald Trump supporters supposedly are in an attempt to discredit one of Trump’s positions. Our friend and 2023 MRC Bulldog Award winner Andrew Kerr put a spotlight Tuesday on the revelation that a previously censored 2022 Biden administration report on the coronavirus pandemic that he said showed “[s]even Americans may have contracted COVID-19 in Wuhan in October 2019, several months before the reported start of the pandemic.”

Except for Univision, the story received a total blackout among “legacy media” evening newscasts.

Not content with five days of The View, ABC now puts up a shorter episode every Saturday on its online streaming service, ABC News Live. It is common for this Saturday content to be less political than the weekday shows, but this Saturday saw the assembled cast smear the country as both racist and sexist.
