In its desperation to avoid any discussion of a potential major legislative win for the Trump administration and congressional Republicans, Monday’s NBC Today devoted an astonishing 15 times more coverage to the morning show’s fired co-host Billy Bush attacking President Trump in a New York Times op/ed than to the GOP tax bill working its way through Congress. 

Why does the tax bill promoted by the President and Republicans have low polling support? Maybe because journalists are constantly trashing it. On CBS This Morning, Monday, analyst Jill Schlesinger declared, “I think it's becoming clear that [the tax bill is] very much tilted toward corporations and the wealthiest Americans.” 

Saturday, The Washington Post and The New York Times reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller removed a top FBI investigator from the Russia probe, after it was discovered the agent had sent anti-Trump text messages. Not only that, but this same agent also led the Clinton e-mail investigation.  

Monday morning all three major broadcast networks, ABC, NBC and CBS failed to update their viewers with the news that ABC correspondent Brian Ross had been suspended over the weekend for his false “bombshell” report that led the media’s Russia reports Friday morning.

At a Navajo veterans’ ceremony over the weekend, President Trump made a brief joke at Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren’s expense that left the media practically foaming at the mouth.

On Tuesday, all three network morning shows fretted over the Justice Department filing a lawsuit to block a planned merger between telecommunications giants AT&T and Time Warner. Hosts and correspondents warned of “politics” being “at play” in the decision and touted how critics were “raising concerns about the motive behind the government’s legal challenge.”

CBS on Tuesday fired Charlie Rose in the wake of revelations that he sexually harassed multiple women for decades. In retrospect, his repeated claims of “respecting” and “appreciating” strong women ring particularly hollow. On September 10, 2017, the journalist grilled former ex-Donald Trump aide Steve Bannon about the infamous Billy Bush tape.

CBS and PBS host Charlie Rose has been accused by eight women of sexual harassment, including groping and walking around naked in front of female colleagues. This is the same CBS This Morning journalist who offered to spank his co-host, Norah O’Donnell. On April 21, 2016, after showing video of lemurs playing, Rose blurted, “It’s either that or [the lemur’s] spanking himself.”

That didn’t take long. Despite deluging the country with stories on Roy Moore, the ABC and NBC network morning shows, Monday, avoided any coverage of Al Franken and the ongoing charges of sexual harassment. CBS This Morning allowed a scant 28 seconds to the Democrat’s assertions he will not resign. Between all three networks, that’s 28 seconds out of a combined 8 HOURS of available air time. 

Fearing that America was one step closer to becoming a theocracy with the opening of the privately-funded Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C., on Thursday and Friday, CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today hyped the supposed “controversy” swirling around the institution, even claiming that a “cloud of suspicion” hung over the building as it opened its doors.

While NBC News has so far refused to cover the corruption trial of Democratic New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, on Thursday, the Today show found plenty of time to laugh at President Trump for taking a sip of water during a White House address on Wednesday.
